SUMMARY Mason Dobois was a fragile guy, he put his heart into things (read: relationships) too quickly and it always ended up in heartbreak. It wasn't any different with Tony Stark, everyone told him not to get too attached because one day he could look at him like he was nothing. Did he listen? Of course not.
He left him alone in a large bed, heart heavy, when he left Paris to go back to Malibu and didn't look back once. Mason stayed when he broke his heart in two, he knew it was inevitable but that didn't stop him from crying for days.
Moving on from his heartbreak, Mason pushed forward and watched Tony conquer the world with his technology and weapons. He watched Tony go missing for three months, he watched Tony come back and change his company, he watched Tony become Iron Man and save the world over and over again.
Then he watched Tony come back to Paris and right back into his life. Mason couldn't help it, he felt his heart lift and fill with love for the man before him but his mind slammed it down when slammed the door in Tony Stark's face.
NOTES This is loosely based off of Shakira's song Mon Amour (a fucking bop mind you). Mason and Tony had a fling for a few months, Tony left Mason one morning and didn't really come back. After what happened in either Afghanistan or New York (honestly pick whatever near death experience my baby has gone through) Tony decides to come back because looking back on it, he finds that being with Mason made him happy and he wants to repair the friendship/relationship they had before he fucked up. After the whole fiasco, Mason's really hesitant because like Shakira said, "Cause I'm fragile and you broke my heart in two"and he spent a while hardening himself back up and trying not to fall so hard in relationships. It's a slow burn y'all, focus on the friendship first and then the relationship please
