You sat at a table all alone, usually accompanied by your brother, Michael, but he was a little late. You saw him in the crowd, and you saw him smile as he dragged Jeremy to the table. You and Michael were inseparable. You wore each other's clothes, right now you were wearing his marijuana tee shirt and he was wearing your rainbow backpack. You shared. Everything.
Jeremy, however, was a little more difficult. He was like a brother to you, but not to a brotherly extent like Michael. Like a platonic thing. Besides, he had a crush on a girl named Christine. She was a lesbian, which everyone but him knew, but whatever let's him sleep at night. Or in his case jerk off.
Jeremy was making yet another attempt to impress Christine. He was signing up for the school play. You and Michael roll your eyes, slurping on your slushees. The room goes silent after Jeremy signs his name, but then Rich yells out "gay!"
Your ears perk up. You look over to Rich. You weren't gonna take that shit because 1) no one insults your friends and 2) calling people gay as a joke was not ok. You were [insert sexuality here/insert noncisgender identity here/an LGBT+ supporter] and you went to event after event. You were not going to take. This. Shit.
"Hey!" You scream, standing up. "Why the fuck do you think that's funny??"
The room goes silent after moments of laughter. Jake pipes up.
"Uh, because Jeremy is acting gay as hell?"
"Since when is liking theater considered gay to men?" You asked. "I know plenty of straight men who are actors on stage."
"Name one." Jake scoffs. You suddenly list most of the men in the Hamilton cast, and any other musical you could think of. "Yeah, right Mell. Ok."
"Oh, I'm not done." You continue, standing on top of the table. "Since when is being called gay an insult?"
"Uh, since forever dude." Some guy calls out.
"No!" You scream. "It's a petty and horrible excuse for an insult! Many people who are homosexual or bisexual or any gender and sexuality have been discriminated so much for being who they are that's it just sickening!"
No one went against you. "Most of them have to deal with that bullshit when they get home anyway! Their families have already rejected them and they're looking for support in the people of this planet and the fact that you won't even get them that sickens me, Goranski."
Rich stared at you dead eyes. One of his eyes twitched green. "Do you know the average suicide rate for transgender alone? 31 to 50 percent of transgender people kill themselves, a large number of them before the age of twenty. And that is only one gender in one country." You start again. "There are ten countries alone who think that the punishment for being homosexual is execution, and double - maybe even triple the number of countries think that it's a criminal offense."
"So, Goranski, Dillinger, everyone in this room who has used gay as an insult and has put down gays, lesbians, and every other gender and sexuality one way or another, let me ask you this." You say. "Why would you insult one of the most hurt communities out there just because you don't agree with what they are, with what they were born with?"
Little do you know that Christine and many other students were recording this.
"They are way too many people who put down the LGBT+ community anyway, why would you start too?" You yell at them. "Oh, and by the way, don't think we don't know what you and Dillinger do under the bleachers during pep rallies."
Many people were screaming "ooooh" and "burn".
"Oh, and don't get me started on how many times you've discriminated people because of their race and religion, you two." You say. "Remember Dua, the Arabian girl that used to be in out math class? She had to transfer schools because you ripped off her hijab in the middle of class and yelled at her because she was an "outcast to society"."
"So really, you two, should I say more apon the horrible things you've done to, not only the LGBT+ community, but every other community out there because you never took the chance to understand them for who they are?"
Silence. Pure silence. Suddenly the cafeteria clapped and whooped, and a bunch of kids started pushing Goranski and Dillinger around as they stared at you with pure hate. You took Jeremy by the hand and linked arms. He stared at you in pure shock. You takes Michael and link arms with him, too.
"Cmon, guys." You say. "I think the GSA is still open."

I made this chapter because I think, as much as I know it gets represented, it needs to be out out there. In the millions of LGBTQ posts and Black Lives Matter posts and many other posts like that, I've only seen one post give the information that I just gave. This oneshot is more of a moral than an xreader, to be completely honest. My entire family is catholic, straight, and everyone in my family either thinks I'm not old enough to know my sexuality or they think that gay is wrong. My mother has only recently starting supporting me because at first, she though this was going to be a phase. She's finally realized it's not. She is the only person who supports me and I hate how - even though they're all "Gods children", they won't accept everything that God created. God made homosexuals and bisexuals and everything in between for a reason.
I am so sorry, I just had to get this off my chest.
