IF YOU COULD SAY HELLO FIRST

I could have talked my heart out,

If you could say hello first.

I could have shown the other side of your flaws,

I could have made you shine, removing the rust.

You could have found my words sedative for you,

You could find soothing company in my silences too.

You could have found me more familiar,

I could have crossed your mind in just an hour.

I could have touched your beautiful scars,

You could see the world going against you,

You felt crumbled, ditched and crushed,

But you were still waiting for me to say hello first.

I know you're looking for something new,

You're looking for the light,

You're looking for sedative on your hews.

You were all set for a flight,

But oh! Your wings, with the ground they got fused.

I know you've been dying to get soaked in the rains.

I know what it takes to compete with extraordinary brains.

And I'm sorry I never called you sturdy and resilient,

And little did I know that you were persistent.

But I know your number of sleepless nights,

And I know all about your fights,

And I can see through your rudeness and outbursts,

But how I wish that you could say hello first.
