Darkness covered the small planet of Cybertron. No one was out or if they were they were hiding in the darkness, afraid of something leaping out at them. They had a right to be afraid. A war was being waged in Cybertron and only one side could win but there would be casualties on both sides.
Only one Cybertronian was out at this hour. It was a smaller Cybertronian than most. It was a black and red wolf-like creature with spiked pieces on his back that looked like fur and light blue, intelligent optics. It's claws clicked against the ground while it's face had a pointed muzzle with perked ears. It was an interesting Cybertronian but it wasn't unheard of.
However despite being rare this Cybertronian didn't care about being caught by those who wanted to harm him for being out late. While he walked his head was hung in grief while he felt as if his spark was breaking in his chest. He kept expelling some strange substance from his eyes that dripped onto the ground and made him feel even worse about himself. He had never experienced anything like this where he felt like he wanted to hide in a hole and stay there until someone came along to end his life. What he was feeling was called grief.
He walked for a while longer before he stopped in an alleyway. He pricked his ears forward and sniffed the air, trying to detect the scent of metal or oil. Nothing. He let out a bellowing sigh of relief and he forced himself forward. He found a tiny entrance to a warehouse. He sighed once more and looked behind him, secretly wanting someone to be following him. It wasn't just anyone that he wanted, but right now anyone would do. He shook his head to clear it when he realized he was thinking the impossible.
He hauled himself forward, his spine rubbing against the roof of the opening. This opening was only meant to be used by smaller Cybertronians like himself. He could easily change into a two wheeled vehicle and come into another entrance like everyone else but he didn't feel like it. He wanted to feel close to something and the walls were the closest thing. When he finally saw the entrance open up into a much larger warehouse he saw a few other Cybertronians waiting for him.
"Hey look who's here," called a black and yellow Cybertronian as he pointed at the wolf-like Cybertronian who had just entered.
"Not in the mood Bumblebee," growled the Cybertronian as he hauled himself from the opening and dragged himself forward, his hind leg dragging a bit as a green liquid oozed from it.
"Cobalt," boomed a voice and when Cobalt lifted his head he saw a very large blue and red Cybertronian standing over him.
"What took you so long," asked a large black and gray Cybertronian as he nodded toward Cobalt. He looked behind and around Cobalt and frowned. "And where's Moon?"
Cobalt let out a billowing breath and sat down, favoring his hind leg. He looked up at his leader, the blue and red one. "Could I speak to you," he asked with a serious look on his face. "In private?"
"It could be a trap Optimus," suggested a small gray Cybertronian as he looked at Cobalt with hostility.
The spikes on Cobalt's body stood on end. "It is not," he spat as his optics narrowed to dangerous slits. "I just want to talk to him alone! It's important."
The Cybertronian looked like he wanted to say something else but Optimus took a step forward and nudged him backwards. "Don't worry Jazz. We've known Cobalt for stellercycles. We can trust him."
"I'm not sure," grumbled Jazz but Cobalt hauled himself to his aching servos and shook his spikes as they laid flat once more.
"Ironhide you're in charge while I'm gone," Optimus called over his shoulder. "Let Ratchet in when he gets here. He's usually not late but something must be keeping him."
"Rodger that Prime," Ironhide growled as he looked back to Bumblebee and Jazz. "I'll keep these newbies in line." He punched his fists together and Cobalt heard a loud metallic, clank!
Cobalt plastered his ears against his head before he padded to the larger entrance since he knew that there was no way that Optimus could fit through the smaller one. He pushed himself out of the large entrance and padded to the side of the building. He had something he needed to tell his leader because he couldn't keep what had happened inside of him any longer.
