Lumber watched his brother dart through the alley ways of Cybertron and he swore under his breath. He had let a powerful asset go and he should have attacked Cobalt and left him for dead. However he couldn't. He was his brother and his spark still had a special part for Cobalt. He wasn't about to harm him unless he absolutely had to.

He knew though that if anyone found out that he had let his brother go without a scratch then he would be punished harshly by Megatron. He sighed and transformed into his vehicle mode. He sped away quickly and down toward the part of Cybertron that the Decepticons had occupied. He passed through a secure entrance and scanned his frame. Once he was clear he continued into the base where Megatron should be.

He transformed back to his wolf like form and strode forward, his claws clicking against the ground. He hauled himself forward but before he could get far he heard a snicker from behind him. He growled in anger and turned around to see a black panther Cybertronian prowling toward him.

"Look what the protoform dragged in," snorted the panther as he pushed his head against Lumber's shoulder, almost plowing him over.

Lumber snapped at the air with his jaws. "Shut your muzzle Ravage," snapped Lumber as the spikes on his flank tittered against his flank to show that he was irritated. "While you were here I was chasing Autobots."

"Autobots," echoed Ravage as he lifted his head and hissed a bit. "You're kidding."

"No I'm not," growled Lumber proudly as he turned his muzzle up proudly in the air. "Now if you'll excuse me I have business to attend to." He pushed forward past Ravage and Ravage hissed in jealousy.

Lumber wasn't about to tell Ravage that the Autobot that he had met was his brother and all they had done was talked. He wasn't about to tell anyone. He passed deeper into the base and the light became dimmer. He heard the voice of his leader, Megatron, and the beta or second in command of Shocksurge.

He padded up to where they were talking and bowed in respect, his servos shaking a bit in nervousness. As he bowed a growl rolled in the back of his throat. "Megatron, Shocksurge."

Megatron turned and looked at Lumber and motioned him forward. "Lumber, how was your border patrol? Did you see any Autobots?"

Lumber looked to Shocksurge who was clicking her claws against each other with a sinister look in her optics. Lumber gulped. Shocksurge always made him feel intimidated and he didn't now why. However he knew if he set a servo wrong then Shocksurge wouldn't hesitate to send him offline. That was just the way she worked.

Lumber gulped but forced himself to answer. "Er yes I did," he stammered with a shake of his head. "I chased it off though and it retreated to one of the only places where Autobots can still live in peace."

Shocksurge let out a throaty growl. "There won't be many more of those after long," she breathed menacingly.

"That is true Shocksurge," grumbled Megatron as he looked to Lumber. "We are experimenting with a new program."

"New program," echoed Lumber as he straightened and his optics flickered. "What kind of new program?"

Shocksurge exchanged a glance at Megatron before Megatron looked to a large door that probably led to another warehouse. "He can be trusted," rasped Shocksurge as she padded forward, her flank dented from the numerous battles she had fought in. "At least for now."

Lumber felt his spark leap in his throat but he forced himself to stay calm. Megantron nodded in agreement and lumbered deeper into the warehouse with Shocksurge and Lumber following closely behind. They opened the large door and Megatron stepped through but Shocksurge rounded on Lumber. She thrust him to the ground and pressed her paw firmly against his throat.
