Blood Defines Us - Fallen Blood

CHAPTER 1 – The Return

It was a cold clear night, most people were inside keeping warm from the bitter cold, some people were still out on the town near the TESCO’s and people roaming back and forth from numerous clubs and yet there was a singular lone figure who had arrived in the town moments earlier from a small village called Highworth and before that nowhere.

The figure gazed around at the town, looking at the Football Stadium and then at the obscure number of roundabouts next to it, hands deep in his pockets, this figure was no older than seventeen years old wearing a black coat made of polyester, the figure once again

looked at the stadium and then whispered “I’m Back”

Three months it had been since this lone wanderer had left his home after many events took place in the three months since he left, two major events had happened, His mother who was suffering from a long term illness died this lone wanderer suffered un-imaginable despair at this event and shortly after in October this lone wanderer suffered an illness that shall last for an eternity.

Even though this person was young his eyes had said something else, from a bright hazel colour they turned into a dull and haunting grey, it was ironic that this new colour of his eyes went with his namesake, pale skin went with the eyes in accompanying his features, because of spending so much time in the dark the skin suffered due to the lack of light and warmth of the sun, better that then suffering pain on a scale a human would not understand, saying that even is an understatement.

Along with his Black coat he wore a plain black T-shirt and blue trousers with 2 white stripes from the top extending to the very bottom of these trousers, he always wore black trainers with a metal feature on the back, his laces were done neatly and the surface were shiny black, the coat also reached to just below the waist.

Glancing at his watch and seeing it was still early in the evening he sighed in sadness, he knew night was the only time he could step onto the earth and bask in the Starlight, gazing up at the stars was a favourite pastime, this lone wanderer would often gaze for entire nights at the stars and moon and watching their movements across the Heavens whilst doing so he never felt alone cause he watched the stars, and they gazed back, never faltering.

A lone man in his mid-thirties was walking on his way home until he saw a figure standing absolutely still gazing at the football stadium. “A Bit late for sightseeing isn’t it?” the man asked with mild interest coming to a stop about 2 metres away from the hooded figure. The figure looked around slowly, never moving from his spot and studied the man for no more than 10 seconds before saying “only time I can I’m afraid as the sun kills you see” he said bluntly as well as tonelessly as if it were fact

The figure turned his gaze back to the stadium hiding his face again within the hood that was up, The man started to walk again and past the figure before turning back and saying “have a good night mate you should get home soon you don’t wanna catch a cold if you’re planning on seeing Swindon play tomorrow”

The figure still gazing at the stadium before him said “I have no home, not anymore” The man who was still looking intently at this person “Well, have a good night” and then he turned on his heels and walked away the figure without breaking his gaze said “you too”

After about a minute the lone wanderer took off to the east at a slow walking pace, gazing at the floor as he walked deep in thought, not needing to look where he was going cause his other senses guided him, coming to a roundabout by a fence that enclosed a school the figure gazed at the direction that he was travelling and said aloud to himself “only a mile to go” he said this with a sad smile.
