"I just don't understand her..." Luke said as we walked down the hall. I hated seeing him upset. I

hated when the gang was upset. They were like puppies that had to be Cuddled, and praised, and

played with. But I loved them. They were my best friends.

"Luke, stop." I said. Stepping on my tippy-toes so I could put my hands on his shoulders.

"Aspen's still the same nerd we knew in ninth grade. She still gets awkward around a large group of

people, and jumps up and down like a five year old when she's happy. So stop stressing, okay. She's

the same girl." I said, hugging him.

"Thanks, Mary. You're like my little Angel." He said smiling. I was about to ask him about his plans

for summer break, when I squealed like a little girl. I felt a hand on my ass, and turned to see

Ashton. He was the definition of top bae. I loved him more than words could explain. Sometimes I

wondered what he saw in me. Ashton was fun, and lively, and was a natural born leader. But I was

the quiet, "holy girl." Something that the girls liked to tease me about a lot. Every time I was with

Ashton, I was reminded that opposites really do attract.

"Hey beautiful," he said, before nuzzling his face in my hair. I kissed him sweetly on on the lips, and

hugged him.

"So, looks like someone's tryna steal my girl." Ashton said in my macho voice puffing out his chest at Luke.

He tried staying serious for about 10 seconds before bursting out and laughing. his smile melted my heart.

He chest bumped Luke, and they started talking about whatever they normally talked about. Ashton wrapped

his arm around my waist, and the three if us walked down the hall and into the library. We saw Bells sitting at

our usual table, and she waved for us to come over. I was surprised she wasn't with Cal, since they had been getting

pretty close lately. But I guess I was kind of relieved since I didn't really approve of their relationship, I didn't know

what to classify it as, seriously.
