The bell on top of the door to the cafe jingled as I walked in. I got in the back of the line and peered around the mass of people to see my best friend Jae, at the counter. As he turned around with a cup in his hand, I waved to him like a fool. He just smiled and walked over to greet me.

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming here? We could've gone together." He asked, pouting.

"You would've made me drive, and then proceed to complain about my driving." I said punching him lightly in the arm.

He held his hands up in defense, "woah woah woah, when have I ever done that?" He asked.

I rolled my eyes, "when haven't you done that?" He just shrugged and took a sip of his coffee.

"Ahhh hot" Jae screamed.

I looked around and gave the guy behind us an apologetic look before slapping the back of his head. "Of course it is you idiot."

Jae rubbed the back of his head and glared at me. I rolled my eyes and walked up to the counter.

"One iced americano." I said, pulling out my wallet.

After I got my drink, we both went to sit down at a table near the window. I hummed and looked out the window, damn, that guy behind us was lowkey cute. But Jae's loud ass voice brought me back to reality.

"You didn't have to hit me!" He said, still caressing the spot where I slapped his head.

I shrugged, "and you don't have to be an annoying shit, but look where we are." He glared at me once again and was about to retort something, when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around and noticed it was the boy who was in line behind us before.

"Excuse me, you speak Korean yes?" He asked with a thick accent.

"Yes." I responded. I noticed he fiddled with his long hair as he spoke again.

"Can you help me order? I know that americano is the same in English but my accent..." he trailed off.

"Of course." I replied smiling up at him.

I walked back up to the counter, the long haired boy right next to me.

"One iced americano please." I said politely.

"Ok that'll be.. wait weren't you up here already?" He asked, taken aback.

"My mom texted me and said she wanted one." I said, not wanting to throw the other guy under the bus. The casher just nodded and placed the order.

The other boy grabbed the cup off the counter and smiled at me, "thanks."

"No problem, would you like to sit with us?" I asked walking back to the table. He nodded and followed me, sitting in the chain between Jae and I. Jae raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, this is-"

"Jeonghan" The other boy cut me off, knowing that I didn't know his name. Jae still looked confused but we both shrugged it off.

The three of us ended up taking for quite a while. I learned that Jeonghan just moved to LA and is currently staying with his friend Mingyu. I also learned that he can sing and do a really frackin good impression of a giraffe.

As we wrapped up our conversation, we exchanged numbers and headed our separate ways.
