Part of me wanted to ask who she was but the other half told me to shut up, but I asked away. "Sorry I forgot you never met my before cancer self, It's Caroline." Oh crap! What do you say to your ex who died? She could tell I was uncomfterable and said: "I'm sorry I know it's awkward cancer made me so different and annoying and rude, it must be really awkward." "No,no it's fine I'm just not used to this.." I lied. "No it's my fault I knew you love Hazel." Grace I thought, Hazel GRACE I wanted to correct but instead I said "How do you know her?" "I used to live next door to her before I got diagnosed." I was blown away by that so I asked "What did she look like?" "Here, I have a picture from when we were at my birthday party" she said as she pulled out a picture, and she was just as beautiful, she had the same big green eyes, the only things that were different was that she didn't have as big of cheeks and her hair was down to her elbows. I just stared at the photo. "Here, I can give you a tour of 'Heaven.'"After life, that's what I called it. Afterlife.We walked around, and she showed me things you can go to, you know to keep yourself entertained. Then she showed me this giant building, "This is the centre, this is where you can pretty much do anything you could ever imagine." she turned to me and looked me dead in the eye, "Now, you can ask to see anyone you left behind, for example; Please show me my dad."and a picture appeared in front of her, her dad was sitting in the old armchair, the one I often sat in. he was reading a newspaper. her parents are kind of old school I guess. "Show me my Hazel Grace." I look expectantly in front of me, she is sitting in her room, hooked up to her Bipap reading An Immperial Affliction. I just watched her, she's so beautiful. I wish I could be with her, then I remembered that she had Isaac...Isaac!! "Show me Isaac." I spoke, ready to see him playing video games. But that's not what I saw.
