Chapter 1: The Meeting

Author's POV

There's one week of summer left and Scarlet does not know what she is gonna do with herself. She has no friends, not even ones at work. She is nervous for her first day of school. This is the first time ever that she is nervous for something, she promised her brothers and Jamie that she will make new friends. But she doesn't know that she will be able too.

Scarlet is sitting against a tree in the middle of the park and a little girl comes running up to her. She is reading a book, so she doesn't see the little girl. The little girl is about to say hello when her older brother comes up to her and pulls her away. Scarlet looks up and just smiles waving at them. She goes back to reading her book. She is reading a book called Lilac Girls, it's a book set in WWII and is about 3 different women in different 3 different places. (Fun fact Lilac Girls is a real book and I own it, I finished it a few weeks ago and i loved it)

While the little girl's brother dragged her away, she just kept on looking at Scarlet. And became happy when she waved at her. She wanted to meet her so badly.

"Big brother, tell GG not to run off anymore, she almost bothered a girl from her reading" the boy said.
"Now GG you can't just run off like that you'll give me a heart attack and worry me to death" the teen boy said to his baby sister and kissed her forehead.
"But big brother Riley, there was this beautiful girl just sitting there, reading, I think she is new here" little GG whined.

Riley just sighed and said "but next time just tell me before you run off".
The happy and jumping little girl said "ok" and ran back to where Scarlet was.

"Hi!!" She said and Scarlet looked up at her. Scarlet smiled at little GG. Even though she doesn't really like talking to people. But she adores little kids. And plus if she is gonna try and make friends this year she is gonna have to start somehow.

"My name is GG, what's yours" she said sitting down in front of Scarlet.
"Scarlet" Scarlet said putting a book mark in her book and closing it. And she looked at the time.

"I'm sorry I have to go, I have work. But i hope to see you around kiddo" Scarlet said and stood up a d walked away. GG just smiled and her brothers called for her. They were go out to dinner with their family.

Their family has all season access passed to all the parks and resorts in Dinsey, but they dont go often. That last time they went as a family was when GG was like 3. They are going out to the Muse restaurant as a celebration for Riley going to be a senior. So they met up with there parents there and got seated.

Scarlet was getting changed and one of her former trainers told her that shes taking a party of 6 and she said ok and continued on getting changed. The hostess told the Lockheart family that their waitress will be out soon.

When Scarlet was ready she clocked in and prepared her stuff. She tied her apron around her waist. The uniforms are school skirts and a collared white shirt sleeved shirt with the Muse and Disney logos on it.

She walked up to the table and said "Hello my name is Scarlet and I'll be your waitress for today" she smiled and looked at little GG. GG became happy and just sat there smiling happily. Scarlet asked if they wanted any drinks and apps. For starters and she got those orders down and walked away. Fridays are normally busy so its crowded here. Scarlet then brought the drinks and bread over and asked if they were ready to order and she took those orders as well. After about 30 minutes they got their meals and started to eat.

Two bells had rung and that means a song was gon a be sung by all the waiters and waitresses. They would dance along to as they sang. And normally someone would take the lead, if your wrist band lit up, that means it's your turn to take lead. Scarlet's wrist band lit up and she looked at it. The other staffers began the song and she started to take lead. (The song is the mix up above in the chapter cover after the pic)

Scarlet was dancing along with the other staffers and she was singing. All the customers were enjoying themselves. Riley just stared at Scarlet, he had heard voice before, she was the voice in the park, and also the girl he couldn't go up to talk to earlier. As she smiled singing and dancing his parents were talking to each other. "She must be new here, I've never seen her before. I wonder if she'll be attending sacred heart" his mother said looking at her husband. "Yeah she quite good too, I'm gonna have to talk to my friends and colleagues about her" his father smiled. His father knows many producers who own labels. And some of them are looking for fresh new young artists.

The song finished and everyone was clapping and screaming for how well they did. The staffers patted Scarlet for a amazing job she. Her shift was over after she handed the Lockheart family the bill and she went to go change. After coming back up stairs from the break room. She was a out to leave when someone stopped her.

Riley stopped her and introduced himself. "Hi my name is Riley, are you new here by any chance?"
"Yeah, I moved here at the beginning of summer" Scarlet replied to him.
"Oh where'd you move from" he said to her as they walked out of the restaurant.
"Massachusetts, I'm from Boston" she said.

"Oh cool, where are you going to school?" He asked her. "Sacred Heart" she said. "Cool I'm actually the president there so I'll see you next week, you must be in the music department so I don't think we will be in any classes though" he laughed and said good bye after they exchanged phone numbers.

Man it's been a good summer, Scarlet just made her first new friend .........
