When we arrived at a small restaurant about 5 minutes from my house, he came around and opened my door again. We walked inside together, but the smell of food wasn't very satisfying and I wasn't very hungry. He looked over at me and gave me a look of concern, but I just nodded silently, feeling sick to my stomach.
We sat at a table by the big glass window, more like wall, across from each other. He smiled at me and I gave him a reassuring smile back and looked out the window. All there was really was a small parking lot and beyond that was a huge mall that was seriously always busy.
A short, curly haired blonde girl who looked to be about 17 appeared at our table and greeted us with a bright smile. "Hello, my name is Sophia and I'll be serving you today. What would you like to drink and are you two ready to order?" She asked politely, mostly looking towards Daniel. He grinned and nodded his head. He ordered for the both of us as he usually did and they flirted moderately, not too much but enough to actually be called flirting.
She walked away when she was finished writing down our orders and brought us our drinks a couple minutes later. When she walked away again, Daniel winked at me and I giggled a little. I looked out the window again and we just sat there in comfortable silence.
"Blaze," Daniel said, earning my attention after a few minutes of zoning out. "Yes?" I asked in response. He smiled at me again, "So, what movies are we watching tonight? Scary, Comedy, or Romance?" He asked, but then his face showed that he had another idea. "OH!! Or we could watch all three!!" I just laughed and nodded. "Whatever you want tonight, it's your turn anyway."
"You've said that the last THREE times you've stayed over, Blaze." He chuckled. "But, I won't argue with you, I'm not as indecisive as you are anyway!" I just rolled my eyes at him and looked over to see the waitress standing there with our food.
As soon as the food arrived, a huge wave of nausea overwhelmed me. She set down the food in front of us and the nausea got a little worse, apparently that was possible. I began to develope a small headache and my stomach was turning.
I started feeling really dizzy and my fingers and legs were tingling like they were about to go numb like before. This couldn't be happening, I can't have one of those episodes in public. I'd not only embarrass myself and Daniel, but the ambulance could end up being called and I could get taken to the hospital, and as much as I wanted to know what was going on with my body, I really didn't at the same time.
"Excuse me." I breathed to Daniel, not being able to speak solidly. I walked to the bathroom as fast as I could, although, that wasn't very fast. When I got in the one stalled bathroom I locked the door and held the wall for support. My head was spinning and the migraine was back, what's going on? I wanted to scream so bad that my throat was aching, but I couldn't.
I stumbled over to the sink, and held on like something would suck me under the earth if I were to let go. I looked up to the mirror and I didn't even recognize the face in it. The eyes were red with vains under them that were clearly noticeable and the face was a little more pale than usual. The teeth were normal except two of them, one on each side. Pointier than usual, looking to have the ability to open flesh. They were fangs.
This person in the mirror looked like a monster, like something you'd only see in the movies. I was scared that the creature in the mirror would jump out and kill me. I wasn't scared, I was terrified.
It was just then that I realized that I was the only one in the bathroom; that this creature was actually me.
