Chapter 10: End Of Vacation

Zoey woke up the next morning a little confused. "How did I get in the van?" she wondered. When she sat up her chest was burning up, her vision blurry, and her movements sluggish. She didn't have the strength to lift her arms very high but she tried anyway. Next, she tried to move out the seat. She immediately fell on the van floor. She started to have trouble breathing. She slowly made her way to the front seat.

She pushed the horn for as long as she could before passing out. The sound of the horn echoed through the early morning silence. hearing the horn Chirs looked out the window. "Hey wake up someone's in our van" he yelled. Julie sat up and rubbed her eyes "what?" The others woke up shortly after. "What is he yelling about?" Nate asked in a sleepy voice. "Someone's in our van" Chris repeated. Julie jumped up and ran out the room.

Julie was down by the van trying to open one of the doors. Nate watched the seen from the hotel room window. Chris and the others joined Julie in the parking lot. With tears running down her face Julie fought with the door "I can't get it open." Nate took out his cell and called the emergency services. He notified them about the current situation then hung up. Shortly after he joined the others in the parking lot. 

When Nate got there Julie was in the sitting against the van crying. Hector turned to Nate "we can't get any of the doors open." "It's okay I made a call," he told them. A minute later an emergency vehicle arrived. They were able to pry open of the doors. When the side door opened they saw Zoey passed out on the van floor. Julie was the first one in the van. Julie starts  shaking Zoey "wake up."

Tears ran down her face "she's not responding."Julie held Zoey in her arms "come back to me, please." Jessica put her hand on Zoey's stomach "she's not breathing!!!!" "Where am I?" Zoey asked. She looked around until. "Zoey what are you doing here?" a voice asked. Zoey turned around immediately, but nobody was there. Mathew, I hate it when you do this. He laughed then showed himself to her. 

She ran up and hugged him. He put his arms around her "Go back, they're waiting for you." Zoey bared her face in his chest "come with me." Mat smiled and sent her back. Zoey opened her gasping for breath. "Zoey Calm down," Chris told her. Julie was holding her in her arms "don't scare me like that." "You had me worried Zoey" she continued. Nate walked over and kneeled in front of Julie and Zoey "why were you in the van?" he asked.

"I can't remember" Zoey replied. Nate stood up and looked at Julie. "Alright Julie help Zoey inside we leave tomorrow" he instructed. Julie and Chelsea helped Zoey to her feet. "Let me go I can walk on my own" Zoey said. But when she tried to take a step she collapsed to the ground. Julie and Chelsea went to help her up but she refused their help. She was determined to walk on her own. She fought to her feet and took another step. She started to collapse again.

But this time Nate caught her on his back. "Let me go I can do this on my own" she demanded. "Stop winning," he told her. Zoey stayed quite. Nate sighed "Honestly you're just like Mat, he didn't like for help no matter how much he needs it." Zoey but Nate's shoulder. "Owwwww!!" he yelled. "I know that," she told him. "Did you really have to bite me?" he asked. "Put me down," she told him. Nate let her down off his back.

Zoey stumbled as she walked into the hotel. when they got back to the hotel room Zoey fell on the bed and fell asleep. Julie sat next to her as she slept. "Should we leave her here alone or should we stay with her?" Hector asked. "I don't think we should go back to the theme park without her" Chris told Hector. "Besides that's not what Mat would do" Chelsea added. " let's wait until she wakes up," Nikki told them. 

So they stayed with Zoey until she woke up later on that night. Zoey woke up holding her head "what happened?" "You passed out in the van," Chelsea told her. "I did?" Zoey asked. Yeah, you really scared us too" Julie added. Zoey got out the bed and started looking around. "Where's Mat?" she asked. Everyone stayed quiet. "You don't remember?" Julie asked. "Remember what?" Zoey asked. Nobody replied. "Come on guys stop playing where is he," she told them. Julie looked her in the eyes "I can't do this someone else tell her," Julie said as tears formed in her eyes.

Julie sat on the other bed and started crying. "What happened, why is Julie crying?" Zoey asked. Nikki looked at Chris "She really doesn't remember." Chris sighed "Mat's dead" Zoey stared at Chris "you're a liar." "He died killing the tiger" Zoey her hands over her ears and screamed "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" As she screamed the lights started to flicker and stuff started flying around the room. "What's happening?" Nate yelled. "I don't know," Chris yelled back. The ring started to glow. The longer she screamed the brighter the ring glowed. 

Then Mat appeared and wrapped his arms around Zoey. After a while, Zoey calmed down.  She wrapped her arms around him. "You really made a mess this time didn't you," he whispered. "I'm sorry," she whispered back. "It's okay Zoey," he told her. Then he turned around still holding Zoey in his arms "Sorry about this," Mat started. "This happens sometimes," he continued. He moved his hand in a crescent moon shape then, unfolded it into a magic circle and tossed it into the air. 

The circle covered the entire room. In one big flash of light, the room was back to normal. He looked back at Zoey "I have to go now." "Please stay?" she asked. Mat gave her a kiss, said I love you, then dissipated. the next morning was spent packing. they checked out and headed for the van. Once they got in Nate drove them to the airport. But before they got on the plain Nate returned the van. 

After that, the group boarded the plain. They took their seats and waited for the plain to take off. Zoey sat in an ile seat. Shortly after the group took their seats a person walked by their seats that looked a lot like Mat. Zoey was the only one that noticed him and turned around immediately. "Mat," she said softly. The boy looked up then turned in Zoey's direction. He smiled and put one finger to his lips "shhhhhhhhhhhhhh." Then he disappeared into the crowd. Zoey turned and sat back down in her seat "I knew he'd wound leave without me."
