Flashback

"Yoongi Hyung how much longer..." Tae whined for what felt like the 50th time.

"Song Yi. Shut your brother up. Now. Like I said 30 seconds ago... We're only halfway there."

Tae pouted and continued to trudge behind us.

"Ouch!"

Both yoongi and I turned around to see Tae had fallen over, his left knee scraped and bleeding.

"Aw. I can carry you for a bit Tae, but it's really not that bad."

"No. Don't carry him. He's fine. He can walk. Now lets keep going." Yoongi grumbled.

Wow this guy is such a grump.

I shrugged at Tae and he continued hesitantly behind us.

-----------------------

The sun was beginning to set, luckily Yoongi said it wasn't much further, a few hours at most. this trip was much easier as we had warm clothes and food.

Tae sat down on the ground, causing us to stop yet again.

"C'mon. You've been walking for a while now., and you hurt your leg. I can carry you the rest of the way."

But to my surprise, Yoongi shrugged of his backpack off, pushed me aside and crouched down in front of him.

"What are you doing Hyung?" Tae asked.

"Do you want a ride or not?" Without anymore hesitation, Tae climbed on and I picked up Yoongi's backpack.

I couldn't help but grin to myself as we started moving again.

So he did have a soft side... Interesting...

I could see he was struggling, as he did have the limp.

"Hyung why is it so bumpy?"

"Shut up."

"I can carry him Yoongi." I offered

"No."

I didn't bother to ask anymore. As well as cold and moody, he was also extremely stubborn. Great.

After a few hours of Tae complaining and Yoongi being his grumpy self, we finally reached the base of the mountains. We were so close.

Yoongi explained that there was in fact a group of rebels who were fighting against the city, and they were living in a small village in the mountains.

As we neared the village, we could all feel something was wrong. Tae had hopped off Yoongi's back and was walking in front of both of us. There was a strange smell looming through the air. Smoke?

And the bad feeling in the pits of our stomachs was confirmed when the village came into view.

The buildings were destroyed, some smashed, others burning and smouldering. The air was thick with black smoke. But the most strange thing was the people.

Or lack of that was.

Not a single soul was to be spotted, no cries for help, nothing.

"Let's split up and look around. Yell if you find anything."

I grabbed Tae's hand, but to my surprise he let go and ran to Yoongi.

"I want to go with Yoongi hyung."

Yoongi just shrugged and walked away, Tae following closely behind him.

I decided to explore one of the more stable looking buildings. The door was long gone, so were the windows.

The furniture inside was either broken, torn, or burnt to a pile of ashes. My boots made horrible crunching sounds with every step I took, the structures of the building creaking occasionally.

I made my way into what I assume was a child's bedroom. There were objects that resembled toys scattered across the floor, and the frame of what used to be a small bed. I moved closer to investigate the surroundings of the bed before a loud sound startled me and I fell backwards.

"Yah! Song Yi!" Yoongi concerned voice echoed throughout the village.

"Come here quickly!" At that I got up onto my feet and bolted towards his voice.

"Are you okay? Is Taehyung okay? Guys!?"

I ran into the home where I assumed the boys were, panic rising in my chest.

"We're fine, but he's not." Yoongi pointed to the boy who looked around my age.

His face was slightly longer, he had a strong  jawline and cute little ears. He was actually quite handsome, if not for the current situation.

He was unconscious. His clothes were burnt as well as the skin underneath, and there was a large wound on his head which was bleeding. Relief washed over me as I could see his chest slowly rising and falling. At least he wasn't dead.

"C'mon help me." Yoongi scowled as he dragged the boy up off the floor. The only problem was that Yoongi was short and tiny. The boy was not. He struggled with holding him up, eventually I came over to help.

"What are we gonna do? Tae asked with worry laced in his voice.

Suddenly it hit me.

"Yoongi."

"Yeah?"

"What ARE we gonna do? This village was our hope, our chance of a new life. It's burnt down to ashes." I could feel tears stinging my eyes.

"I...I don't know... But right know we need to help him. Maybe he has answers."

"Hyung. Song Yi  is right. We have to think of ourselves as well. Where are we gonna go?"

"WE CAN'T JUST LEAVE HIM! JUST REMEMBER I FOUND THE BOTH OF YOU HALF DEAD JUST LIKE HIM!" Yoongi snapped.

He huffed, then got his temper under control.

"Look, I'm sorry. It's just we need to help him. We can stay here for the night, there are a few buildings that are safe enough."

"Okay." Both Tae and I looked at the ground, avoiding eye contact with him.
