Lost & Found

I take a small chair and stand on it so I'm just high enough to see what's going on outside through the minuscule window. I feel a surge of happiness coursing through me. It's a human but not a normal person you'd see walking around the street casually. No, no, no, this is a police guard we're talking about. He can help, right? I collect all the strength I have and force out a yell that sounds like a dying animal moaning in pain because, obviously, I had the honour of being choked until I nearly died which is very convenient in this situation. To my surprise he actually hears my detached voice through this window.

"Who's there!?l he asks, alarmed

"It's a ghost!l I mumble sarcastically, teasing him

"Stop messing with me!" He yells

"I'm right here, you dumbass!" I scream

"You lost or what?" the cop says

"I came here because I thought it would be fun to explore this wreck," I explain

"Are you serious?"  He inquired incredulously and I nod.

"Kids these days," he mutters under his breath

"I heard that!" I shout, glaring at him.

"Well, are you gonna get me outta here?" I shout impatiently.

"I'll go open the door," he replies.

I walk casually towards the door and I feel way more relaxed. My breaths and heartbeats are now calm and steady and my muscles aren't as tense as they were before. What if it's just another one of the creature's tricks. Now that I am so close to escaping, the desire to live burns brighter than ever. I finally reach the door and see it shake and I know it's the policeman trying to open it because I can hear his muffled screams of frustration. No,no,no,no,no I'm not staying here! Never! Never! I want to go NOW! I can't stay here longer than I already have or I'll go crazy. Absolutely crazy!

Suddenly, all the desperation and the desire to live evaporates into rage and I storm to the nearest bedroom. I finally find a room with a window big enough for me to fit through. I grab a sturdy peace of furniture(whatever it was) through the haze of rage and I smash it into the window and I hear a crack! I open my eyes, hoping that it shattered but there's only a long crack running through the windows. "Damn it!" I scream, frustrated as hell. My determination slowly transforms into complete and utter frustration as I grit my teeth and close my eyes and I pick up the piece of furniture again and repeatedly hit the window with all my strength (which is not much).

I soon hear a shattering sound and I see the chair flinging out of the window and millions of tiny glass shards flying in midair through my half-opened eyes and it feels like time just stopped working and I can see the shards frozen and suspended in time. I feel adrenaline pulsing in my veins and I feel triumphant at the magical sight of the broken glass frozen in the air which makes  feel powerful.
