•Jasmine's POV•
I get out of the limo and sigh, looking at my phone as I walk up to the front door of Neverland. I go inside and set my bag on the floor before walking into the living room. I slump into the couch and continue texting.
"Hey, sweetie. How was school today?" I hear Dad's voice.
"Good, I guess." I say, looking up at him momentarily.
"That's good!" He says warmly as he sits next to me on the couch.
"Oh, I have a party tonight. I'm leaving at 8." I say.
"But, what about our plans? We were going to watch cartoons together."
"Dad, I'm sixteen years old. I think it's time to stop the cartoons!" I huff, looking over at him.
He stays quiet and looks down. I feel guilty for snapping at him.
"I'm sorry. I've just been stressed out lately. A party is what I need tonight. I promise, we can watch cartoons tomorrow." I smile, holding my father's hand.
"Okay. I'd love that." He smiles.
The bell rings, signalling that someone is at the gate and Dad frowns.
"I don't remember inviting anyone over.." he mumbles, pressing the buzzer to let them in.
We go out the front door and I instantly recognize the car. The car stops and Jake gets out. He smiles at me and I blush.
"Hey, baby!" He says softly as he approaches me.
"Baby...?" Dad raises an eyebrow, looking Jake up and down.
"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry. Let me introduce myself. I'm Jake Spier, sir. I've been dating your daughter for a while now. It's so nice to finally meet you." Jake smiles, putting his hand out to shake Dad's.
"Oh, hi. It's nice to meet you, too. Come on in, Jake!" Dad smiles.
Jake walks into the house and I smile nervously.
"I was going to tell you eventually. I just didn't know when would be a good time." I whisper to Dad before walking inside.
"It's okay, I understand." He giggles.
"Wow! This place is beautiful!" Jake gasps, walking around the main house.
"Thank you," Dad smiles. "Let's have a seat in the living room, shall we?"
We all walk into the living room. Dad sits in the big chair and Jake and I sit beside each other on the couch across from Dad.
"So, how long have you two been dating?" Dad smiles.
"Ever since grade nine, sir." Jake answers.
"Grade nine? Wow. Around two years! And please, call me Michael. You don't need to call me sir." Dad laughs.
"Okay.... Michael. Wow, I'm calling the king of pop by his first name!"
I can't help but giggle at Jake's cuteness. He's so adorable. I take his hand in mine and he smiles at me.
"Aww, you guys are cute. You remind me of Jasmine's mother and I." Dad chuckles, looking from us to his hands.
"Aw. I'm sorry for your loss by the way. How long has it been now?" Jake asks sympathetically.
"About fifteen years.." Dad sighs, wiping his eyes a bit.
"Wow, you were only one year old." Jake states, looking at me.
"Yeah.." I nod awkwardly.
I don't really like talking about my mother. I don't know anything about her. I didn't know her so it just makes things awkward when she's the subject of the conversation. Plus, Dad always gets sad when she's brought up and I don't like seeing him sad.
— A few hours later —
"Well, I better get ready for the party now so we're not late." I sigh, getting up.
"Okay, babe." Jake smiles.
I leave Dad and Jake alone in the living room and go up to my room to get ready. The dress I'm wearing is already lying on my bed because I picked it out this morning before school. I slide my t-shirt off as well as my pants. I look in my full length mirror as I slip into my dress and sigh. I desperately need to lose weight. Everyone says I'm slim. Some even say I'm too slim, but all I see is a fat person that needs to go on a better diet. I apply my make up and do my hair before returning back downstairs.
"There she is!!" Jake sings as I walk into the living room.
"Wow. My little girl's all grown up." Dad gasps, looking at me as he stands from his chair.
"Are you ready to go?" I ask Jake.
"I am if you are, beautiful." He winks, making me blush.
"Okay, kids. Have fun and stay out of trouble." Dad smiles as Jake and I hold hands.
"We will, Dad. Don't worry." I giggle, walking towards the door.
"Okay, princess. I love you."
"I love you too, Dad." I smile, hugging my father.
•Michael's POV•
I watch Jazz and her boyfriend drive out the gates and down the road and sigh. My little girl is growing up too quickly.
"But where do I know what last name Spier from?" I mumble to myself, trying to think.
Then it clicks in.....
"No way...." I gasp...
