Amy locked herself in her room for hours once Harry had taken Albus to the ministry for questioning. She heard a knock at the door but, ignored it. After a short while another knock followed.
"Amilia, let me in please. It's your mother." A soft, caring voice called.
There was a crack and another voice joined the conversation.
"Here, allow me. I have a spare key." Another voice offered.
The key was jumbled into the lock and a click followed as the door cracked open. Amy looked away from the window to see Lily and Harry walk in.
"Are you okay darling? Harry told me what happened." Lily asked.
Amy shook her head not wanting to talk at the moment.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Lily added.
Amy nodded her head in reply. Lily and Harry sat on either side of the window next to her.
"After all this time," Amy began, gripping tight onto Aaron's wand " It wasn't even him. I can't believe I fell for her trick."
Harry placed his hand on Amy's shoulder.
"We'll find him, don't worry." Harry assured.
Amy stared out the window.
"What if the Aaron I was with at the ball my first year wasn't really him? I can't bear knowing not knowing how long he's been away or when he disappeared." Amy replied.
Amy was devastated. Knowing that Aaron was still being held captive was the most horrible feeling she had felt in her life. Somehow through all the darkness and pain she had undergone, a flower blossomed. That single ray of hope, her only ray of sunshine, had, in one swift swipe, been taken from her. She stood up and got her purse and slung it over her shoulder. She had a plan and she wasn't going to fail this time.
"Where are you going?" Lily asked.
"Diagon Alley." Amy replied simply.
Amy walked down the stairs and up to Snape.
"What are the ingredients needed to make Veritaserum?" Amy asked.
"Why, may I ask, would you need to make that particular potion?" Snape asked.
"To find my Aaron, to discover the truth of what really happened to him. I need you to teach me..........father." Amy replied.
There was a long pause between the two. After a while Snape finally spoke up.
"Okay we will take a trip to Diagon Alley tomorrow morning." Snape exclaimed.
"No, we are going now!" Amy replied.
Everyone's heads snapped towards Amy at her remark.
"I should have all the ingredients needed but, we don't have a cauldron to mix it in." Snape explained.
"I've got that covered." Amy replied.
Amy went upstairs and grabbed the handbag that she had had since first year and came back down. She then opened it up and reached her whole arm inside and pulled out a small iron cauldron.
"You seem to have mastered the undetectable extension charm." Felix noticed.
"No, I could never seem to get that one right. This bag is the bag that you casted that charm on. It hasn't worn off, surprisingly." Amy replied.
Amy looked up at the moon through one of the nearby windows.
"Looks like it's a new moon. As I understand it, it needs to be a new moon in order to start the potion. Correct?" Amy hypothesized.
"That would be correct yes. Let's get started right away." Snape replied.
Amy picked up the heavy cauldron and looked over at Harry.
"Here let me carry that. You can prepare the potion in the kitchen." Harry replied.
Harry lifted the cauldron out of Amy's arms and carried it into the kitchen. Amy watched as he hung it above the fireplace.
"I will leave you be to brew the potion." Harry explained.
Amy watched as Harry left the room determined she looked towards Snape.
"Let's get started." Amy implied.
