Chapter 8: Trust

This morning nobody is discussing news about the satellite. I wake up early and wear a cute red tank with a white jumper to match my high tops. I quickly get dressed go to eat breakfast with Brooke.

"Hey. So please tell me why I am up so early on a Friday?", I ask her with my eyebrows raised before I begin to eat my breakfast muffin and smoothie.

"Come on. You are practically glowing. I am guessing things with Leo are better?", Brooke asks giving me a knowing look.

"Maybe", I say blushing furiously.

"I ship it", Brooke tells me before frowning and telling me, "Something strange is going on with Daniel's mom and Marcus. I think it has to do with the crash."

"What do you know?", I ask her.

"Nothing...yet", Brooke tells me with a wince, "but I am going to figure it out and was wondering if you could help?"

"I wish I could but, there is Raven's seminar today so I will be busy", I tell her wishing I could help her out.

"It's no problem", she trails off looking at Marcus before saying," I have to go."

Brooke follows Marcus as I shrug and finish my muffin before walking to the gym. I run into the Raven's on the way and walk up to Leo giving him a hug as he wraps one arm around my waist. His fingertips unintentionally brush the area my skin is open to from my tank top causing me to blush before turning to listen to Jackie.

"Collaboration Teamwork Dynamics Seminar? Is this gonna be boring?", Jackie groans into my shoulder.

"Beats me", Hayley jokes walking up to Suzy. 

"Welcome, Ravens! Anyone have issues with heights?", Suzy asks once we are all inside.

"Actually", Max begins as he raises his hand.

"Other than Max, I meant", Suzy says with a light eye roll as we all laugh at Max's predictability.

"Today's seminar is about collaboration. A good leader knows how to work effectively with his or her team. You'll work in pairs. One partner will climb this wall blindfolded while the other partner will be his guide. Your job is simple. To get to the top", Suzy says to us with a smile showing us the blindfold.

"Suzanne, the thing is, I have a problem with the calcium crystals in my inner ears", Max begins again before Suzy interrupts him," You'll be fine, Max. Don't worry. We have harnesses and helmets to keep everyone from falling."

"So, who wants to be first?", Suzy asks clasping her hands together.

"Come on, Angel, I'll show you the way!", Leo says giving me a light squeeze.

"Okay", I hesitantly tell him about to grab the blindfold when Suzy looks at Leo and says, "Actually, why don't you wear this?"

"Sure", Leo shrugs grabbing the blindfold and preparing to climb the wall.

I instruct Leo up the wall with ease since he did not hesitate to follow my exact instruction. He soon reaches the top without effort and comes back down as we all applaud him. He eventually stands right next to me taking my hand in his.

"Can't wait for your turn", Leo says playfully as I give him a shy smile.

"I can", I tell him honestly.

Leo gives me a confused look before asking me, "Why? Don't you do this kind of stuff all the time in Dance and Gymnastics."

"How do you know I take gymnastics?", I ask him knowing that I did not tell him my schedule.

"Don't avoid the question", Leo tells me with a serious look.

"Fine. I have a fear of being blind ", I tell him looking down embarrassed by my childish fear.

"Hey", Leo tells me bringing my eyes up to meet his, "You will do fine. I will be instructing you the entire way. All you have to do is trust me."

I nod at him as he kisses my forehead and we wait in the back of the group for my name to be called.

"Okay, now just take your left arm and move it up and to the left"

 "Leo!", I whimper as I slip and almost fall. I hate not being able to see anything, I feel vulnerable and unsafe.

"Hey, hey, it's fine, trust me. You're doing great. Just relax. Now just move your left arm up, just a little bit more, left, you got this", Leo tells me before I do as instructed and climb further up.

"There you go. Okay, okay, now right hand and just a little bit up and to the right. Just a little bit Right there, you got it!", Leo exclaims as I begin to gradually scale the wall, "Okay now take your left foot and just bring it up a couple of inches. Perfect. You made it. You did it." 

I pull off the blindfold as I realize there is no more wall to climb. I hear everyone cheer for me as I bounce off the wall. 

My feet finally hit the ground and I begin to take off the equipment as Becca goes up next. I back to Leo who pulls me into hug whispering congratulations in my ear causing me to blush. I am glad Leo is hugging me because if he weren't my legs would have collapsed from the feeling of his breath on my ear.

Later that day, I go into the music room and begin to try and write a song using the few chords I have learned. I begin to sing,

I turn when I hear clapping in the background, I see Leo leaning on the doorframe. I quickly put the guitar down embarrassed someone heard me.

"That was really good", he tells me with a smile.

"Thanks, I thought I would try to start writing since I am learning to play", I explain

"Well you must have quite the teacher", Leo whispers me leaning closer to my face.

"I do", I whisper before Leo plants his lips on mine. I begin to kiss him back putting my hands on his shoulders. He picks me up and moves us to the couch causing me to gasp and allowing him to slip his tongue into my mouth. I taste Leo as his tongue begins to explore every inch of my mouth. I begin to trace the curves of his back as I hear Leo let out a moan before impatiently trying to tug off my jacket. He finally takes it off and begins to give me light butterfly kisses down my neck as I let out a sigh of satisfaction. I feel Leo's hands begin to move higher before I pull away. He gives me a confused and hurt look.

I hesitantly brush my hair back with my hands before I embarrassedly tell him, "I don't feel comfortable...doing that kind of stuff yet"

Leo doesn't say anything, he just sits up and pulls me up with him stroking my hair before saying, "We don't have to do anything you are not comfortable with, tell me to stop whenever you feel I am going to fast."

I give him a thankful smile before he pulls me into a hug and kisses my forehead.
