I set my phone down after reading some of the comments. I had my legs over Zion who was currently sleep. I slowly got off of him making my way to the kitchen. Edwin was sitting at the counter on his phone. I decided to sneak up behind him placing my head on his shoulder.
"Hi." I said as enthusiastic as possible. He jumped while gasping causing me to laugh.
"Geez Thal you scared the shit out of me." I laughed as he placed a hand on his chest trying to slow his breathing.
"You gonna be ok there macho man?" I asked placing my hand on his shoulder trying to me as sarcastic as possible.
"I think I'll recover." He sighed, the corners of his mouth rising into a grin.
I walked over to the fridge grabbing out a bagel and cream cheese. I fixed myself what I like to call a very healthy meal. I walked back to where Edwin was sitting plopping down next to him. Me and Edwin had been best friends since we were in first grade. When he got a call from Sony music saying he should try out for a band. I decided to drop everything and take on the adventure with him. Now we live in la with the band, I somehow was allowed to go everywhere with them. I ran their shared social media account and took pictures for them.
"So how are things with Tif?" I asked causing Edwin's cheeks to turn rosey red. I smiled at my best friend who I could tell was completely in love.
"Good, were good. I really like her." He was blushing more then ever, it was cute. Sometimes I wish I could be with Ed, but at the same time him and I have been friends for too long. The one thing that was easy for me was supporting him with everything he desires.
"Hows your love life?" I was snapped out of my thoughts by the question Edwin had asked. I shrugged taking a bite from my bagel.
"Its non existent. I want to be with someone, but no one wants to be with me." I shrugged taking another bite.
"Not true. Do you remember in fourth grade when half our grade was going to beat me up because I was holding all the guys back from you." He smiled telling the story that made me love the kid even more. I nodded laughing.
"Yeah that was an eventful day, but that was also like 27 years ago. Not to be dramatic or anything." I nudged his arm. Brandon walked in the room calling for me which was odd because we weren't on the best terms due to the fact that I exposed his girlfriend cheating on him. I simply walked into a room at a party, saw her and another guy getting it on. Brandon was heartbroken which sucked for me since I had grown really close to him.
"Hey what's up?" I perked up at the fact he was finally talking to me.
"Its not a date or anything, but I want to make up for being an ass to you for the past few weeks. So I was wondering of you would go to this music fest with me. I smiled instantly feeling all giddy inside.
"I would love that. When is it?" I asked.
"It's tonight, sorry I would have told you sooner but I-" I cut him off.
"Its an unofficial date. Oh and I'm always up for a music fest." I smiled walking to my room to find an outfit.
