Eliót's POV:
Five days.
Five nights..sleepless nights. Full of tossing and turning. I could faintly smell Zero on my shirt from that night, I don't know why I haven't washed it better yet throw it away.
But after two minutes of putting in the washer and immediately pulling it back out, I finally gave up.
Abandoning the shirt to my hamper again I grudgly went to my in home office. Not seconds later the phone rang.
"Hello?"
"I'm looking for Eliót..." He paused as if not remembering why he called.
"Yes, this is he." I replied bored with work already. A long pause gave,me the notion he had hung up but I was wrong. "I work for Mercer Company, my Boss, Nikolas Mercer, assigned me as your partner in the Goldmin Case."
"Yes..erhm..he did ment- wait what!?" I roared into the phone receiver my temper rising. "I wasn't informed,of this. Kelly has worked for us for years! And he just hired you as,my partner without asking for my input? Who are you even!" I demanded, venomously.
"Zechariah Lin Winston..my close friends call me-"
"Zero." I finished for him. The line went silent and all you heard was my uneven shocks of breath. "Do we? No! Eliót from V&R?" Everything, was now a blurry mess, I dropped,the phone back in the cradle and slumped into my chair.
Of all the god damn people,in this company Zero becomes MY partner?!
