Dipper's POV
To be honest, I was scared of where Bill was going to take me. 'What if he planned something awful? What if he was is to kill me?' but as I thought these things, I was interrupted by Bill saying
"Jeez, relax Pinetree. It's not like I'm some sort of demon or something" he emphasized, obviously proud of his "clever" joke. Bill shouldn't be reading my mind, but to be honest, that was pretty funny. I couldn't stop a dorky grin from spreading across my face. Bill smiled back proudly as if he had just won an award, he was clearly happy that I had liked his stupid joke.
"Hey look! Pinetree has a sense of humor!" Bill jested, clearly enjoying my amused smirk.
"Well, at least I'm not a floating corn chip!" I laughed back. Bill pretended to be offended by clutching his chest with one hand dramatically.
"How dare you Pinetree! I am clearly not a corn chip! Everyone knows that I am sponsored by Doritos!" Bill joked, and with this comment I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. Me and Bill spent the rest of the car ride playing around and having a good time. Finally, after about half an hour of driving, we reached our destination. I looked out of the window and immediately recognised where we were. We were parked at the bottom of the hill where you could see the mountain through which the alien ship, the one Grunkle Ford had took me to, had crashed.
"Why are we here?" I inquired. Bill just smiled and started to lead me up the hill. It was a bit of a longer way up than I anticipated, but when I reached the top, I was amazed. A beautiful candle lit dinner was spread out on a red tablecloth at a picnic table facing the alien crash site. The setting sun was framed delicately by the hole in the mountain, giving the evening sky a soft golden glow. I turned to Bill who was grinning at my wonder-filled expression.
"It's beautiful Bill!" I gasped, "When did you have time to do all this?" Bill stood next to me and smiled.
"I honestly snapped my fingers as soon as we parked, but have been I planning it out the second I teleported away Wednesday night." Bill said, looking very nervous. I have to say, I have never seen Bill with an expression of true, non twisted or demented, happiness. It looked good on him. The breeze was ruffling his hair gently, and the orange glow of the sun was reflected in his dazzling green eyes. I blushed at the sudden realization that I actually thought he was attractive. I was also surprised that for the first time, my most private thoughts were not interrupted by Bill commenting after reading them. I looked back at him to find that he was too busy staring at me. When he figured out that I noticed, his faced went bright red and he turned away.
"You want to go sit down and eat?" Bill asked, embarrassed.
"Um, sure" I smiled, following him to the picnic table. I was so distracted by the veiw that i didn't notice the delicious looking meal set out on the table. There were two plates filled with a big peice of steak and big pile of creamy-looking mashed potatoes each. We sat down across from eachother and started to eat in silence. The food was amazing, it just melted in my mouth with every bite. I decided to finally meet Bill's amused gaze.
"Is it good, Pinetree?" Bill smirked. I felt my face get has as I looked back down at my plate. I heard a chuckle from the demon across from me as I responded,
"It's delicious." We continued to eat in silence, Bill staring at me with lust in his eyes. Everytime I dared to glance up at him I Just blushed harder and quickly averted my eyes. By now Bill had finished his food and had all his attention on me.
"Why do you keep staring at me?" I asked, annoyance evident in my voice. I looked up at Bill as he smiled with his creepy all-knowing grin.
"Don't be modest Pinetree, you damn well know your not awful to look at~!" Bill smirked, laughing at the look on my face. "I mean, human lives are so short, and it has only been a matter of years since I last saw you. I didn't know it was even possible for someone to get this attractive in such a short amount of time.
"Bill." I tried to stop him as I became more and more upset, my face blank of any emotion.
"It's not not like you were awful 8 years ago," Bill continued "You were my favorite puppet, I wish you would still let me jerk you around" Bill winked.
"Bill!" I yelled. My face was red, but this time it was not from embarrassment. "I'm not just some, some toy that you can play with whenever you feel like it! If I hadn't gotten so "attractive" you wouldn't even bat an eye would you!?" I started to tear up. "And my name is not Pinetree!" I emphasised, getting up and walking to the edge of the hill. I sat down as I buried my head in my hands. For a few seconds Bill was too shocked and hurt to respond.
"Dipper, I.... I'm sorry." Bill said, proceeding to come and sit next to me.
"And to think that I was starting to actually like you, an hour ago I was even happy that we were on a date..." I said quietly. Bill placed his hand on my shoulder and tried to get me to uncover my face.
"Please Dipper," Bill ran his hand through his hair, "I'm new to this relationship stuff, I have no idea how it's supposed to work. No one has ever been willing to go out with me, so this time I decided to resort to one of my petty deals." as Bill finished, he wore a shy smile on his lips.
I uncovered my face and pondered his expression. "So your telling me, in the thousands of years you have been alive, that you have never been in a relationship with anyone?" I questioned, looking up at Bill.
"Oh, that? I just went back to different time periods to make people believe that I was way older than I am. In reality I'm not much older than you." Bill chuckled, obviously relieved that I was no longer angry.
"That just proves my point more, if you could be with anyone, anywhere, and in any dimension or timeline, why would you choose me?" I asked sadly, crushed at the thought that this whole date was just to mess with my head. Bill's face went red as he looked down and started picking at the grass.
"Because even out of everyone in all those circumstances, you are the only one I have ever fell in love with..." Bill murmured.
"You...you love me?" I stammered, feeling my face get hot.
"Yes" he replied, blushing.
"How do I know your telling the truth?" I questioned. Bill's embarrassment quickly changed into a smirk. Before I even knew what was happening, Bill had his lips pressed against mine. I could feel the passion radiating off of him as I kissed back. After what felt like an amazing eternity, he broke the kiss.
"Save some for later Pinetree~" Bill purred, chuckling at my awe-struck expression. I pulled away awkwardly and looked out at the town. It was almost dark, and I knew that Mable would start bombarding my phone if i didn't get back soon enough.
"My sister is going to kill me if I don't get back soon, she is more overbearing than Ford," I joked, checking my phone for the million missed messages I already knew Mable had sent me. "Even though she would flip if I ever tied to interfere with her love life. " I stated, laughing at her hypocrisy. Bill joked along with me, and after a few minutes of messing around, he agreed to drive me home. We got in his car and started to drive off, making lighthearted conversation untill we reached the mystery shack.
"I guess you have to go home now, Pintree" Bill pouted, crossing his arms.
"If you so upset then take me on another date you baby~" I giggled, getting out of the car. Bill just grinned, and followed me out of the car. "What are you doing Bill? Grunkle Ford is here! He might recognise you!"
"Relax Pinetree, I'm just being a gentleman and walking you home" Bill smiled, offering his arm to me. I took it with a smirk and we walked up to the door. I let go of Bill's arm, knocking on the door to let people inside I was home before opening it. When I opened the door, I was shocked to find Ford and Stan standing in front of a familiar group of people staring at me angrily. Behind the two men stood an apologetic-looking Mable.
