John's P.O.V

'Let me help you.' I reach up to Sherlock, whose struggling to climb the stairs with a cane.

'I can manage.' He pulls away from me, fumbling with the keys as he unlocks the door. Without a backwards glance at me, he enters.

'Daddy! Daddy!' I hear squeals of delight from the boys and despite the tension between me and Sherlock, I smile. They were up all last night making a banner for him. William did an experiment using all of his equipment yesterday and is eager to show him the results. Jonty solved his first ever case and is almost bursting with pride at telling Sherlock.

I enter the room and Sherlock falls silent, glancing at me before clearing his throat. 'I'm going to go have a shower.'

'Daddy, I need to show you-'the boys speak at the exact same time and both giggle, glancing at each other. 'Sorry, boys. Show me afterwards.' They nod and scamper off to their room, leaving us standing alone.

'Is it good to be back?' Sherlock looks at his feet. 'Extremely.'

Awkward silence.

'I cooked you dinner, I made spaghetti.'

'I'm not hungry.' My heart falls as we both stand in silence. It is unbearably awkward. I hoped once he was back home, everything would be forgotten.

Apparently not.

He hasn't forgiven me for not trusting him. In fact, that was the first thing he said to me after the operation to remove the bullet. He looked me right in the eye and said, 'John, I haven't forgiven you for not trusting me.'

We have barely spoken since. I have done everything in my power to convince him I do trust him, I was just jealous and suspicious of Rene, but he refuses to believe me. If he doesn't forgive me soon, I don't know what will happen to us.

'Mycroft and Greg's baby was born while you were in hospital. In October.' I try to restart the conversation. 'Another girl. Named her Eliana. I told Greg it was stupid, you know, now they have Liliana and Eliana, but apparently Mycroft was adamant. She's the spitting image of Mycroft, apparently-'

'John, I don't care. I'm going to go and take a shower. This situation is tense enough without you babbling away about Mycroft and...who's Greg?' I would have smiled if I wasn't so upset.

He turns around and heads into our bedroom, towards the toilet. I wonder where we will sleep tonight. 'Need any help?' I call after him.

'No.' the door slams and immediately Jonty and Will run into the sitting room.

'Ok, what's wrong with Daddy? He's acting really strange.' Jonty asks me, sitting on my left. As usual, Will stands, pacing, running his hands through his hair. It really does need cutting. It grows at a remarkable rate, he looks like a lion for Christ's sake.

'He's angry because he doesn't think Papa trusts him, Jonty. I explained all this. Remember? Keep up. Obviously, Papa is just jealous because Rene was clearly expressing desires to form a relationship with Daddy, he was just too blind to notice.' He notices my mouth is open and with an evil smirk, so like his Fathers, he says 'I can see other people's situations clearly. I'm like Daddy.'

'Yes, and that's not necessarily a good thing.' Will huffs and walks over to Sherlock's chair and collapses on it before sitting upright and putting his hands under his chin. Retreating into his mind mansion.

'What do I do?' I ask Jonty. Yes, I know he is only four, but he is very smart. Not in the obvious way like Will or Sherlock, but he sees things in situations that others do not. He forms very smart ideas very quickly.
