Being a teenager totally blows. I don't know how many times I have sighed last year entering the doors to this miserable school, and lucky for me, I'm back for another one. I should count how many people there are in the hallways because nothing else will fascinate me. It's so crowded I wanna puke. Too many people. Way too many people. I put my mind to more important things and looked down at my card to see where my locker is at. 214, first floor.
I walked around for the location and finally arrived, with no time to put my shit away, might I add. I saw a group of boys hanging around locker 217. There were five of them and the tallest curly, brunette haired one looked over and gave me a warm smile, which I returned awkwardly. It seemed as if it was only me and the boys in the hallway, and the atmosphere felt warm and peaceful. I finished putting my things away quickly and shut my locker door. From the corner of my eye, I could see one of them staring at me. The longer part of his hair was light brown, while the trimmed part was black. He also was about 5'5 while his friends were all obviously six foot and up. His roundish face gave in to the rest of his body, showing that he was quite small. He definitely was the runt of the boys. Glancing over at him, he quickly looked away and looked over to his friends conversation. I brushed it off and started walking down the hallway, which was in the direction of where the boys were. Not looking forward to making any awkward conversation, I put my head down slightly and tried to walk past them. I sadly failed as the brunette that had smiled at me earlier gently stopped me by putting his hand gently on my shoulder.
I looked up to him and his brown eyes were innocent and welcoming,"Hey! I have no idea where to go around here and neither do my friends maybe you could show us?" He asked politely, "I'm Adam, and that's my twin brother Brody. The short one over there is Shane, the extremely tall ginger is Jake, and that gay one is Chris." He chuckled as Chris stuck his tongue out at him.
I grinned and looked at them all, my eyes landing on one particular shortie. Shane, huh? I smiled to myself like a fool. I definitely didn't think him staring at me was in a bad or inappropriate way at all. He just seemed normal, and quite bland, he hasn't changed his facial expression or talked to anyone the entire time.
I looked back to Adam and nodded my head, "Yeah of course. What year are you all in?"
"We're all sophomores, same with you, I'm guessing?"
I nodded my head again and reached into my violet hoodie pocket, "I have a paper that shows where all the classrooms are at, would you all like to look at it?"
"Yess! Thank you." He jumped up and gave me a short hug then let go, gently grabbing the paper and showing his friends. They all got where they were headed and Jake, Cris, and Brody all went to their classes.
Adam looked over to me, Shane standing behind him, " What's your name, may I ask?"
"I'm Samantha." I cleared my throat quickly, "Samantha James, but you can just call me Sam." I smiled slightly and he did as well.
"Well Sam, where are you heading?"
"Biology."
His face lit up and I swear I could see him glowing, "As are we!" He linked arms with Shane and I (receiving a cold glare from Shane might I add), then started our walk to biology.
For the first time in a while, I felt genuinely happy. Inside and out.
