From the very moment (Y/n) and Katsuki exhaustedly stumbled through the households main doorway – clumsily slamming it shut – an infuriated, womanly voice began boisterously scolding quite vehemently.
"Katsuki Bakugō, where have you been, you hellion?! Do you realize how worried—" the footsteps came to a screeching halt, as did the furious talking right before– "You even brought a girl home without asking?!" Incredulousness mixed with slowly building anger and arrant surprise dripped from the woman's tone. "Now you're just asking to be grounded, you little shit!"
Despite (Y/n)'s inconvenient circumstances, she breathlessly chortled, extremely amused, palms cupping her soaked legging-clad knees to keep a relatively anchored bearing.
"Fuck, stop nagging, you old hag!" Katsuki unsurprisingly barked. "She's just a dumbass classmate that got stuck in this shitty storm with me," he explained grouchily whilst roughly yanking off his waterlogged shoes.
(Y/n) slightly snapped out of her dazed stupor upon hearing the rude insult. "Hey!" (Y/n) frowned, arm and balled fist swinging blindly, intentionally but unintentionally giving his abdomen a good, reprimanding punch.
Katsuki doubled-over in agony, wheezing out a pitiful, somehow still aggressively hostile, "I'm only speaking the truth, idiot Half-pint!"
Neither noticed his mother leaving shortly.
"Don't care," she answered bluntly, huffing faintly. "Would it kill you to be civil for once in your life?" (Y/n) hissed, wiping a stray droplet of frigid water trickling down her numb face. Being mercilessly pelted by cold rain really muddled her perception of hot and cold temperatures.
A highly entertained laugh interrupted their arguing. "Hah, she's got guts, I like her already!" The woman exclaimed proudly, jarringly slapping him on the back rather vigorously. "Nice choice, Katsuki."
(Y/n) straightened immediately, finally coming to terms they had company. Looking upward and forward, her view filled with the vision of a female spitting image of Katsuki holding two clean, fluffy towels. (Y/n) was absolutely dumbfounded, she was fun-loving – a tad short-tempered, nevertheless, nothing akin to the explosive hothead's volatile personality.
"Are you deaf?! I told you we're not together!" Said boy sneered contemptuously. "Tell her, Half-pint!"
Gaze focused dead ahead, (Y/n)'s tired eyes connected with motherly crimson orbs. "Sorry for barging in unannounced," she said placidly, completely ignoring Katsuki and plucking up that almost nonexistent nerve to act relatively well-behaved.
Katsuki made a weirdly strangled noise caught somewhere between a caterwauling hyena and a choking hippo being pushed over the side of a cliff simultaneously. Nobody acknowledged his accumulating distress.
"And she's got manners? You could learn a thing or two from her." His mother continued teasing the fuming youth, kindly handing them separate dry towels, which (Y/n) gratefully accepted and Katsuki snatched away. "Hm, besides that, I'm Mitsuki, Katsuki's mother." She directed at (Y/n), smiling cordially, her information-seeking stare searching inquisitively, but maintained a respectful unintrusiveness.
"(Y/n)," the apprehensive girl returned, marginally dipping her head, remaining a tad withdrawn. "Excuse me again for bothering you," she added charmingly, keeping up the sickening, charismatically wholesome route to get on this woman's good side. She was awfully welcoming, making (Y/n) feel genuinely comfortable and itching to abscond the vicinity simultaneously.
Mitsuki's eyes imperceptibly widened, blinking once. "You're not bothering me at all!" She declared reassuredly, gently ushering them both deeper into the cozy living area.
