**Embry's pov.**
I woke up the next morning, stretching as a yawn escaped me.
It was my first night, staying at Ace's and it felt like home.
Well sort of.
Excluding my twin and my parents not being here.
I sat up in the bed, not really wanting to leave its comforts.I could stay in bed all day, and not have a worry in the world.
No scratch that.
I had a shit ton of worries.
If Trip was determined to get me, I didn't have a single doubt he wouldn't try almost anything.
He was that kind of person. And that scared me.
I'm not sure, what I had done to make him so interested in me.
To the point he'd involve dangerous people.
Then again.
Trip was pretty dangerous himself.
Crawling out of bed, I walked over to the closet changing out of my clothes I wore yesterday.
What?
I had a long ass day, not to mention it was pretty shitty.
I had no interest in changing after yesterday.
But today was a a newer day.
Maybe I could manage to get Macy to hang out with me.
Y'know act like a teenager and not a maid.
There weren't any other kids here, besides the two of us.
And I refused to hang out with older guys.
Ace was an exception I guess.
"The beach?" Ace asked me inside of his office, he removed his reading glasses as his brows furrowed at the question.
I stood there with a nod.
"I.. I thought you me and Macy could go? It is the perfect time to swim, and it sounded nice." I suggested trying my best not to fidget.
Ace studied me for a moment, sighing to himself he stood up.
"Good grief kid, there's clans after us and you want to go to the beach." He chuckled walking up to me.
Don't step back.
My conscious screamed at me, he wasn't going to hurt you.
Ace placed his hand on top of my head, ruffling my hair as he smiled.
"Yes, we can go to the beach. Go let Macy know, and I will have Derek informed as well." He told me.
I felt like an excited child on Christmas morning, as I nodded before bolting out of the room to go find Macy.
I felt relief seeing her in the kitchen, cleaning up the dishes.
"Macy!" I called out to the blonde who jumped in surprise, before looking to me.
I stopped dead in my tracks, seeing fear in her eyes.
"Sorry." I said my brows furrowed as I looked away now.
Macy shook her head, her cheeks a little more pink than they just were.
"N-No I am.. did you need something..?" She asked me, drying her hands on her apron.
I smiled brightly her.
"We're going to the beach, and I want you to come." I told her.Macy's eyes slowly widened at my statement.
"T-The beach..? What's at the beach?" She asked me confused.
I cautiously approached the other.
"Seashells.. the blue water, seagulls.. the smell. Oh and sails!" I said with a smile.
Macy gripped her apron, looking away from me now.
"I don't think Sir Ace will allow m-"
"Of course he will, he already told me you could go." I gave her a thumbs up.
She blinked, several times as if needing to register everything.
"And you want me to go.. with you?" She asked almost to quiet, which I was thankful for my great ass hearing at times like this.
"Yes." I said with a soft laugh.
Macy's cheeks darkened.
"U-Um.. well alright.. let me go change.." She told me.
I nodded as she walked out of the room.
I waited inside the car, for Macy to show up.
What felt like an hour later, she finally came out of the house.
She was wearing a yellow sundress with white lace on the ends of her sleeves and the bottom of her dress.
She had a pare of white sandals on, as she walked closer to the car.
She seemed shy once she got in.
I smiled at her, which she returned even if it was a small smile that seemed forced.
The ride there was quiet, just the sound of the tires running over the hot road and the wind smacking the car.
I kept glancing to Macy who stared out of her window, not saying a word as we drove.
When we got to the beach.
The smell of the ocean flooded my nostrils as I engulfed all of it.
I have missed this. The beach, the view.
The cooling atmosphere.
I walked directly over to the clear blue water, the hermit crabs scurrying underneath the light sand as the waves took them.
I turned to Macy, ushering her to join me.
Once again, she seemed hesitant to act on her own but soon enough did.
She jumped once the waves crashed against her ankles.
I smiled at her.
"Isn't this nice?" I asked her.
She looked to me, this time smiling for real without hesitance..
"Yeah.." She agreed, taking in the view.
We ended up sitting on the shore, just to enjoy the view and taking in the beach itself.
My eyes closed as I listened to the waves crash.
"I really needed the beach." I confessed, my head leaned back as I smiled relaxing.
I tensed, feeling lips gently press to mine.
My eyes opened as Ace stood next to me.
"It's getting late, we don't need to stay out here much longer. It won't be safe, for either of you." He told us.
I found myself pouting, which to my surprise.
So was Macy. Her brown eyes shimmered when the sun hit on them just right, they were beautiful.
She glanced to me, causing me to nearly snap my own neck trying to look away from her.
I tensed hearing her giggle.
WAIT.
I looked back to her, seeing her face lit up as she tried to surpass the cute sounds escaping from her.
She hid her face, as she laughed.
It threw us all off guard, hearing the shyest girl possible.
Laughing at something.
She wiped a stray tear from her eye, as she looked at me with a soft smile.
"Thank you, Embry." She leaned over and gently pressed a kiss to my cheek.
"Macy!" Derek barked startling her.
Fixing to stand up to defend her, Ace put a hand out as he frowned at his driver.
"She is okay, Derek. There is no need to get angry, she had a fun time today and it was thanks to Embry." He glanced to me.
I blushed looking away now.
Macy looked to me, she still held a smile on her face.
I smiled to myself.
Yeah.. I had a fun time today as well.
Later that night, I was back in bed.
Except this time, Ace didn't come in here.
Not once.
And that made my chest ache, for some strange reason.
