Chapter 1
Twelve Days Later.....
In other news Today,
It has been six days since Heiress Martina Hernandez went missing from a home estate in Zuros. So Far police have no leads but, Mrs. Hernandez is the sixth woman to be abducted within the City of Zuros in the past six months. Police are advising that young woman between the ages of 20 to thirty keep a Watchful eye. And, Are in Doors by Curfew.Alison Cooper stared at the holo-screen across the sink with both morbid fascination and fear. In her hands was a strainer containing tonight's dinner. Homemade Pasta with Meat Sauce, Garlic Bread, and Fresh Ice Tea was on the menu tonight. And, The Kitchen was permitting with the smells of the sauce and fresh garlic bread. She shook what water was left from her pasta and placed it in a large white ceramic bowl before turning to continue to watch the news report.
"So, Far the police have little on the person responsible for this abduction. But, Officials have told us that they are working hard on the case. In Other News, Senator Samuel Jacobs has officially taken the seat today. "
"What the hell is this crap! That was a Foul."
Alison jumped at the sound of her father's voice and reached turning off the Holo-screen before moving back to the pasta. She could hear her mother laugh while her sister cheered at her father's team's little foul. She carried the large bowl to the dinner table where the rest of the food laid waiting. She stepped back and inspected her work before taking a breath and yelling.
"Mama, Angie, Papa, Dinner is ready."
There were a loud clatter and movement as her family moved from the living room towards there dining room. The First was her father who walked backward yelling at the TV, His team colors decorating her entire body from his hair to his shoes. He turned gave her a smile before moving to head of the table where he could see the TV. Her mother who was still laughing at her father. She takes her seat next to her father making sure to kiss him on the cheek and remind him that their team hadn't lost a game once this year and that he shouldn't get to work out.
Last was her older sister, Who was dressed in Blue and White and dancing in the room. Alison couldn't help but laugh at the silliness of her family. She sat down quickly and dug in watching as her family discussed the recent win of these years teams. It was a warming scene and if anyone looked at them, they would see just a modern family. They were far from that though with Her father and Mother being one of the top private military firms in the country and her sister being one of the cities best lawyers. She served her parent's some bread before sitting back down in her seat.
"How was work today, sweetie?"
Alison served herself some pasta before she spoke. " It was good, I got some work done last night and so Micheal will leave me alone for a little while."Her sister laughed shaking her head and taking a bite of the pasta. She then moaned and reached to hug her and sigh. "Love you cooking sis." Alison smiled before taking a bite of the pasta herself. "Did Micheal talk with you about having that extra security yet?" Her father asked taking a moment to look at his youngest daughter. Fifty years haven't dampened the effect of Danger her father broadcasted. As a decorated Marine and former Cop, Her Dad knew about most evils in the world and that made him a bit overly protective especially when it came to his girls. And, With the recent kidnapping, his overprotectiveness had risen a bit too much. Her mother smiled at her husband finding that overprotective nature a bit cute. " Micheal, Is talking about getting a couple of guys tonight. I'm going to head over there after dinner," she explained watching as her father physically relaxed.
"Alright, I could come with you if you want and check these guys out. I want the best for my baby girl."
Alison gave her father a small smile before reaching to pat his hand. He still wasn't comfortable with his youngest going out in the spotlight like she was. Like a Famous Artist, She was highly desired and He knew what sometimes happened to stars like her. He remembered the all too common calls of his clients and their stalkers. So, When she told her parents that she had not only sold three of her sculptures and two of her paintings but had actually been asked to present a whole gallery. He had been scared and when Antonio "Derek" Cooper got scared he was usually snappy. The fight the two had was explosive and those who witnessed it couldn't say that Alison didn't look like her father at that moment. Sure, She received her pale skin and Asian features from her mother but her temper came from her father. It had lasted over two weeks before she finally told him that she wasn't a little girl anymore and she would do this with or without his support.
He finally gave in after she moved out.
"I'm good, Dad. How has the business been doing?" She wanting to change the subject. Her mother gave a frown and sighed " It's gotten better sadly to say because of those kidnappings. Every rich man wants a guard on his daughter or wife at all times. We also had to hire at least thirty new guys." Her mother explained finishing the last of her first bowl of pasta. "And, I have never had so many..."
The loud Shrill of a Holo-phone caused her sister to pause. And, Alison to jump reaching to touch her chest. She was quick to touch the small wrist bracelet ending the sound. Micheal's face popped up. Micheal was in all sense a cute looking kind of man with his boyish face and sweet charm, it was understandable why he was in the businesses since he was just comfortable to be around.
" Hi, Mr. and Ms. Cooper. Sorry to Bother you Alison but We just got news from that agency I was telling you about. They're almost at the office. So, I kind of need you to get over here."
Alison sighed and nodded before ending the com and getting up to clean up. She kissed her parent's goodbye and hugged her sister before heading out to go meet her new 24-hour escorts.
