She went to bed too late

Tears flowed from her eyes thinking about what she ate

She wished she could just forget everything that makes her weep

So tired but yet can't seem to fall asleep

She'd wake up too early still smelling like alcohol

Wishing she wouldn't wake up at all

Getting dressed and doing her makeup while her head is pounding

The thought of people going to school like this is astounding

Her phone was always silent

She got mad easy and started to get violent

Even though she smiled all the time

Smiling and laughing so much it could've been a crime

In class she had good grades

If only they knew about her blades

She had a boyfriend and they seemed perfect for each other

She was an all star athlete just like her brother

She'd go to the bathroom alone

Lock herself away to be on her own

Crying uncontrollably wishing this would just end

Then walking out like nothing just happened

The way she acted at school you'd think she had it all figured out

Not up at 4am stressed and crying over homework knowing she still has to do a workout

Not training out of practice for 3 hours a day to be the best

Nothing was ever good enough she'd protest

Nights got longer and her eyes grew wary

She ditched the lunchroom for the library

Her boyfriend said she never made time for him anymore

Her mornings got earlier as she woke up before four

Dark circles under her sunken eyes

Now her clothes weren't her size

She convinced herself she didn't have time for breakfast so she'd pass

She couldn't stay focused in class

One night changed everything as she greaves

She went to school the next day wearing long sleeves

No one seemed to notice her wrist covered in gauze

They complimented on how skinny she was

Her grades started went down and she starting talking with a slur

Her parents were so disappointed in her

She locked herself in her room all the time

She kept insisting that she was fine

Her grades no higher than a twenty

Her eyes were nothing but empty

She always seemed so dazed

She walked alone in the hallways

Throwing up her dinner

She believed she needed to be thinner

Staying up late hating herself for being runner-up

Wishing she wouldn't wake up

She passed out at school

She wondered why everything felt so cruel

Her parents even concerned about her weight

She became so filled with hate

Rolling up her sleeves her arms covered in cuts and scars

Sometimes staying up all night writing her memoirs

Finding the courage to complete her vision

Making her decision

She stayed home from school with a blade cutting her wrist

People noticed since she never missed

Rolling up her sleeves a final time as she took a deep breath

She was ready to welcome death

Closing her eyes and feeling the pain shoot up her arm

She wondered how she could do so much harm

She watched the blood as it poured out of her

Then slowly everything turned into a blur

The blade had done its job like it has for years

She dropped it as she fell to the floor in tears

They heard her fall and broke down the door

She had already collapsed onto the floor

Her cold blank stare was chilling

Now somehow everyone felt responsible for her killing

But now it's too late

She will never graduate

Her life is over in the blink of an eye

No one got to say goodbye

They never seen how much pain she was in

Or how hurt she was within

The pressure was too great

It was one of the reasons she met this fate

It wasn't their fault

She never told an adult
