Chapter One
Godly Glowing? What??Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. I certainly didn't want to be a god.
My name is Percy Jackson, I'm 17 years old. Recently, I found out I had been turned into a god.
I guess I should mention how that's possible. The short explanation is that the greek and roman gods are real. They float high above in Mount Olympus, AKA the Empire State building in New York.
Crazy right?
When I was twelve, I learned I was a demigod, a half-blood. Half mortal, half greek god. My mom is Sally Jackson. My dad? Posioden, god of the seas, earthshaker, stormbringer, father of horses. Pretty impressive, huh?
I learned I was part of a prophecy. The Great Prophecy. I was destined to either destroy or save the world when I was 16.
Spoiler alert: We saved the world.
Then, I learned I was involved with the second great prophecy, the prophecy of Seven. I was taken from Camp, my memories were erased, and I was put in a camp full of roman half-bloods.
Spoiler alert: Then, seven of us united and we saved the world (again). We lost a guy, Leo Valdez. Later on we learned he was still alive and had a girlfriend.
Not long after that was when my troubles started.
Apollo, yes Apollo the GREEK GOD, was turned mortal and sent to Earth due to his helpfulness in the second Giant War.
He and a demigod, Meg McCaffery, went on a bunch of quests to help him become immortal again. I have no idea how it's going.
My problems really started about a month ago. I was visiting my mom in New York.
-
I had just gotten out of my bed. I had just found out Apollo was now a mortal named Lester something. He was being punished for his efforts during the Giant War, and now served a demigod named Meg.
Yawning, I changed into jeans and some random shirt I found. I made sure Riptide was in my pocket and walked downstairs.
I guess I should mention I carry a sword at all times. A real deal bronze sword. If you're mortal, it can't hurt you, but it's deadly to monsters and can hurt demigods/other mythical creatures.
Riptide is the english name, it also has a name in greek. I won't go into detail, but it is disused as a pen and fits in my pocket. Usually when mortals see it, they see a baseball bat. So of you see a baseball bat in a place that does not belong, congratulations! You found a half-blood.
I walked into the kitchen and saw it was 9 am. Luckily it was Saturday.
I said hello to my stepdad, Paul, who was reading the paper. I then hugged my mom and got some water.
My mom, who was cooking pancakes, glanced over, "Percy, please don't..."
"Too late." I poured the glass of water on my head.
Paul laughed, "Why not just take a shower like a normal kid?"
"That's no fun," I grinned, "I like messing with you guys."
"Just don't get kidnapped again, or I'll kill you. Now eat these pancakes." My mom said, giving us each three pancakes each. I looked at her and she flipped another one at me.
I looked down at the four pancakes and grinned. They were died blue, an old joke between my mom and I from when my first stepfather had been there.
His name was Gabe and he was not a very nice dude. I won't go into detail, but he is now a stone statue sitting in some New Yorker's yard.
I heard the sounds and the table grow silent and looked up to see my mom and Paul staring at me, "What?"
Their food hadn't been touched and they were staring wide eyed at me. "What?" I asked, "Is there something on my face?"
"Percy," My mom said slowly, as if she couldn't believe what she was saying, "Are you aware that you're glowing?"
"Glowing?" I asked, "What do you mean I'm glowing? Do you see it too Paul?"
"Not like Sally does, I assume. You just look shinier." He replied.
"You're glowing." My mom said, "It's almost as if there's sparks coming off of you. I've seen that a few times before. It's the look of a g-g-g"
"God?" I finished. My mother had done....stuff with a Posioden. He had revealed himself to her. She had always known he was a greek god.
Wait, if I was glowing like a greek god does that mean..?
I took out my pen and I capped Riptide. It grew into a 3 foot long bronze sword. I put it against my fingertip and made a small cut. A drop of blood slipped out.
But it wasn't normal blood. Instead of the deep red color I was used to seeing, it was gold.
I stood up in surprise as I watched the cut heal. My blood was gold. Which meant I was immortal. Gods glow. They have gold blood. They're immortal.
I glow. My blood is gold. This means I'm immortal. This means I'm a god? But how?
Oooh yay, chapter 1! What do you guys think?
