i stare at the needle
above my eyes
it threatens to steal
everything i see
to take every memory i hold
it wants to be all i know
it pierces
it bleeds
it thieves
i try and look away
my eyes close in resistance
but it's all i know
through my veins
through every cell
it consumes my body
takes control
it's all i know now
