the second thing I noticed about him
was that he was my age
which was exciting
because he was obviously a theater geek
and he looked too young to be sixteen
but too old to be thirteen.
So the options were fourteen
Or fifteen
And I was hoping for the latter.
then there was this exercise
so we could all get to know each other
and we had to get into groups
of people who were the same age.
and I got into the fifteen year old group
and at the last second
he joined us
and I couldn't help but smile again
because maybe we could be friends
although I had to admit he looked dateable
because of the way he was talking to his friend
just being a boy
being himself
and he was my age
and he was cute
and he was there
a theater geek like me
and I thought to myself
that maybe there was hope
for a girl like me
because he looked at me
be made eye contact
and he smiled at me.
"what's your name?"
i completely forgot how to talk
but I snapped out of it
because it was useless to fall for him
and I replied,
"Christie."
he stuck out his hand for me to shake
"Noah," he said.
and I smiled.
