Black and blue

Her left eye was swollen shut. A dark purple and blue cast was around the socket. Her busted lip was stitched and appeared grey like she was dying from dehydration. Her skin was broken, dull, and pale. She looked faded. Not high but she looked like a pair of black pants that were put in the wash too many times. She was brown with this ashy whitish, grey tint to her skin. The nurse said she was in stable condition but I couldn't tell. She looked like she was going to pass away at any moment.

Her right leg was propped up and in a cast. I bowed my head and put my hands together and prayed. I said "Dear father please watch over and protect Sasha. Please guide her in her healing process. Amen" I was at a lost for words so I figured any prayer was better then none at all. Even though her face was badly injured she still looked like a peaceful sleeping angel.
I talked to Sasha until I was too tired to keep my eyes open. I didn't know if she could hear me but I felt like my voice might be comforting. The only other person that came to visit was my aunt Sherri. I called her immediately after I found out where Sasha was. Auntie was crying and yelling and cursing up a storm to whoever would listen. Aunt Sherri stayed by her bedside for four hours but had to work a 2:30pm-11:00pm shift so she had to leave. I've been walking around the hospital for hours. I just need to get my mind off things and pacing in that small room wasn't helping me much.
I hadn't noticed before but I could hear my stomach growling. The pain I felt was like I hadn't eaten for days and my stomach was eating itself. I decided to head to a vending machine on the first floor that I already past. I really wanted a Twix and maybe a banana from the cafe. I walked to the stair-well with a pep in my step. I ran down the stairs skipping two or three steps in between. As I reached the last set of steps my legs slipped from under me. Before I knew it I was flying head first down a flight of stairs. My head bounced off the concrete steps like a fully inflated basketball. I opened my mouth to scream but it seemed like nothing came out. I heard my arm break as I landed on the last step. Everything was spinning and I had no strength to get up or call for help. I laid back, let my eyes close and the darkness consumed me.
