Third person point of view

~Flashback~

CRASH! BOOM! SLAM!
Cole's eyes shot open, he heard the screams of his mother and the crashing of glass, he silently got out of bed and listened by his doorway, he heard the slam of the front door as it shut. He quickly made his way down the stairs and into the living room.
She must be in the kitchen...
Cole thought to himself as he continued to make his way through the house.
"M-Mother?"
The thirteen year old called out as he looked around the corner of the doorway, only to see his mother, yet again, sitting on the floor, in a pool of her own blood, leaning against the now broken stove, it's glass strune across the room and around where she was sitting, she was silently sobbing as she wraped her bruised and cut up body as well as her cut up face in bandages.
Cole's father would get home from his 'buisness' trips drunk or just angry in general and would beat Cole and his mother, although, his mother got the worst of it be would also belittle them and call them names.
Cole rushed over to his wounded mother, she must've not heard him walk through the house for she looked over at her beloved son, with tears in her eyes which also stained her rosie cheeks.
"Cole? You're awake? I'm sorry sweetie..."
She sniffed.
"Mommy will be just fine, okay? Now-"
She winced in immense pain.
"Please, go back to bed before your father comes back and sees you here with me."
Cole could feel the glass in his feet, but it didn't seem to faze him.
"B-but Mother.. I wanna help you, you're hurt."
He said quietly as he wiped the tears from her cheeks and she put her hand over his and leaned her cheek on his hand.
"C'mon Cole, mommy will be just fine jus-"
She looked up as she heard shuffling outside of the door that lead just outside.
"C-Cole, now- please"
She said firmly, fear laced her words.
"You don't want to make your father angry, and with how he is right now, I don't want to lose you, so please, go up to bed now."
She said quietly.
"Who gives a damn what he thinks or even does!?"
Cole snapped.
"Cole, this is not the time to act like an idiot, go, now!"
She half yelled half whispered.
Cole's eyes welled up with tears as he looked at his wounded mother. She looked like she was on the brink of death.
"B-But...."
Cole whimpered quietly. She just gave him a look and Cole hugged her tightly and she hugged him back, a bit tighter than she usually did, something was wrong, really wrong.
"I.. I love you Cole, please go."
Cole let go and stared at her for a moment and nodded.
"O-Okay.. I-I love you too.. M-Mother.."
And with that Cole quickly but silently ran back up his room, he didn't pay any mind to his now bloody glass filled feet, which left bloody footprints all the way up to his room. He laid down in his bed, and pulled the covers all the way up to his face. He waited there, listening, silently, listening for another one of his mothers screams. He hoped he didn't have to hear one, but that usually didn't happen.
Cole listened and heard the faint talking of his mother as a person loudly entered through the door.
"H-Hello hunny.."
His mother greeted the person weakly.
"Do NOT call me 'hunny' you stupid whore."
A booming male's voice spoke. Cole shuddered in his bed as he heard the voice.
"I-I.. sorry."
His mother said quietly.
The male looked around the room, only to see small bloody footprints leaving the kitchen.
"Why the HELL is there bloody footprints all over my floor?! Did you wake up that pathetic little scrap with your pathetic whore-ish crying?!"
The male asked loudly, moving closer to Cole's mother. Cole began silently crying as he heard his father call his mother these names.
All of the sudden Cole heard the loud scream in pain from his mother, it was blood curdling and it sent chills down his spine.
"M-Mother..."
Cole whimpered quietly. Then.. there was silence. Cole sat bolt upright, she never went silent this quickly. Cole then heard loud stomping coming up the stairs. He quickly and silently got up out of his bed and went into the closet. He heard his door slam open. Then a pause.
"WHERE ARE YOU YOU LITTLE SHIT?! COME OUT HERE, NOW!"
A loud voice boomed, his Father's voice. Cole shook where he sat. Then he saw light flood into his dark hiding space. He was found.
"COME HERE!"
And with that, cole was grabbed by the hair and dragged out of his closet.
"Ahh- P-Please.. f-father don't"
His pleas were not heard for he was thrown into the wall. He slid down it and was dazed. He looked up at his father and choked up blood.
"P-Please..."
Was the only word that left his mouth before he was kicked hard in the stomach, and knocked out.
~ × ~
Everything was fading into sight as cole sat up, his face was wet with blood and his shirt covered in his own vomit mixed with blood. His father was nowhere in sight.
He left...?
Cole thought to himself as he got to his feet, staggering, but holding himself up on the wall.
MOTHER!!
Cole quickly made his way down the stairs, falling down some of them. He limped into the kitchen where he saw his mother lying in the floor. Motionless... surrounded by a pool of blood and glass, her head had a huge gash in it.
"M-MOTHER?!!"
Cole screamed as he ran over to her, tears already pouring out of his eyes.
She didn't move.
"M-Mother! No Mother please.. please don't leave me... M-Mother..? M-Mommy.."
He sobbed into her, now lifeless body. He hugged he tightly. No matter how hard he tried, she didn't wake up.

~ End of flashback ~

"MOTHER!!"
Cole screamed as he sat up quickly in his bed, he was sweating, tears staining his cheeks.
He felt his face, it was wet with tears. He fell silent and sobbed into his hands.
What a shitty way to start the school year...
He thought to himself, wiping his face with his shirt.
