You were a top student in all your class. Not top by straight A's but you were in the A-B ratio of the school. It wasn't unheard of, for a student to be really good in academics and early training of their quirks, but you exceeded the teachers, your parents/guardians, and even your principles expectations with balancing them both so easily.
One this particular day, the school's most renowned bully, Aizawa Shouta, has shown up in one of your class and chosen a seat beside you. He didn't talk much nor did he both you but some of your friends had told you he despised you, so you didn't try to push his buttons or talk to him unless absolutely required. When classes ended for the day, you made no effort to try and push past him and run out of the classroom.
You decided it was better to lag behind and wait for everyone to leave so you could study and draw in piece. The only odd thing about this decisions was the fact that Aizawa hadn't left either, even after the stampede of teens came to a halt and left the hallways empty. You stood up and gathered your things, trying to leave but we're stopped when Aizawa grabbed your backpack and pulled you to him.
"How come you're leaving? Figured you'd stay here for a while longer." He said with a monotone voice despite asking a question.
"I... Um..." She looked around the class then back at him. "I just thought you might wanna be left alone..."
He looked at you as if you had made a rip in his sleeping bag, his face went from stern to soft then smug as he stood up and smiled almost oddly at you.
"Let me walk you home." He said completely disregarding your precious statement of leaving him alone as he took your hand in his and walked out of the school, almost forcing you to move.
You walked with him, and closely at that, as he practically dragged you down the street. It wasn't until you noticed the sun going down that you sped up a bit and kept a blush across your face as he looked at you occasionally.
Finally, you spoke up, "A-Aizawa... Why are you always mean to everyone at school? They... They really don't like you because of it..."
Aizawa took a deep breath and looked at you. "I suppose I'm mean to everyone because," He looked forward. "They've all had something to say behind my back."
"But... Then... You use to be mean to-"
"I know." He sighed and gripped your hand. "But then I figured out you were the only one to ever take up for me." He used his friend hand to rub his neck. "Then I overheard people trying to bully you for that. So... that's why I've been staying by you lately."
Thinking about it, Aizawa had been close by for a couple weeks. He was always in sight of you or within earshot. He was even there when you were in the library reading Trapped by a Bracelet • Book 1 by Kathryn A. Rader (SJ/NJ/KR).
*which you recommend to any of your other universe selves to read because it really supports and encourages the author to continue writing the stories and chapters she has been when she's in a super bad spot and "figuratively" speaking if she were there with you she'd tell you how much she loves you and appreciates your support because she has never had a story this noticed or successful before -coughcough-*.
You looked at Aizawa and he seemed more concerned about admitting that than anything. You couldn't help but chuckle at his expression before running in front of him and hugging him. "Thank you, Aizawa."
