i mean, he had thought she liked him. she had seemed to enjoy hanging out with him, and laughing at his jokes. and all the times he had shown up to her hotel room and watched the show with her he thought maybe something was going to happen.
but it had been ten minutes since she had read his text, and he was starting to want to kill himself.
a few seconds later, his phone started to buzz.
and kept buzzing.
he grabbed his phone off the table and saw her name flashing across the screen.
"taylor 😍🤫" wants to call you!
his fingers were shaking as he pressed "accept" and held the phone to his ear.
"tay?" he asked nervously, and she answered back familiarly, "noah?"
he laughed. "yeah. yeah, it's me. um, sorry if i made things weird."
"no, noah–"
"i mean, i was being stupid. so, i'm sorry. you don't even have to hang out with me anymore if you don't–"
"noah!" she cut across him, and he stopped.
"yeah?"
she sighed, and then said, "i do like you. and i want to go out with you, you dork."
his breath caught. "what? really?"
she was laughing, and he grinned as she replied, "yeah, really."
"oh, thank god," he answered, and she laughed again.
"so, do you wanna go get coffee?"
he couldn't believe how fucking chill she was being. this why exactly why he fell for her. for being herself.
"yeah, sure," he answered, and then said quickly, "hey, taylor?"
"yeah?"
"you're beautiful, okay? everything about you is beautiful. don't let some jealous motherfucking "fans" try to tell you otherwise."
he could hear the smile in her voice. "thanks, noah. see you in five minutes."
she hung up, and noah couldn't resist doing a victory punch in the empty air.
