" You don't even love him." Lauren says while we're in line to get lunch. We decided today that we would eat indoors. Rumors spread saying creeps lurks outside during this period. We decided not to test that rumor.
" Yes I do Lauren" I said after getting my food and sitting down at a abandoned lunch table. Lauren and I always have this conversation about my boyfriend Khalid. She thinks that I'm forced into the relationship. Honestly, I can't tell her the truth about it.
"I'm done arguing about this, but if you ever want to tell me the truth about it then-"
"Stop bugging her Lauren I think she had enough." Ally says while she sits down. " Do you have any plans today Normani? I'm thinking of going to the mall."
"Sorry I can't Khalid asked if I can come over to night and I agreed." I give her a apologetic smile." Maybe tomorrow though." I reassure her.
"Oh okay, that's fine how about you Lauren?" Ally gives her a questioning look.
Lauren answers smugly " If I go to the mall you have to pay."
Ally rolls her eyes " Fine."
As Lauren hi fives herself I see from the corner of my eye someone rushing to take a seat at one of the tables. She's very late, and very pretty. What? What am I thinking, you are very taken Normani. We finish our lunch, going separate ways to our classes. I make my way towards history.
We all get seated, and I notice the same girl is in here with me. Coincidence? I guess so. She glances back at me, and in that second I see her slightly grin.
"Normani Hamilton pay attention in my class or you are getting a detention." I decide to at least try to listen to the first part of the lesson. But, again my mind starts to wander...
" Normani he's a great man for you believe me." My mom tries to convince me to hear her out.
"No mom I don't want to be with him, I don't even know him." I retort back. She's been trying so hard to get me with this man. I don't want him. She is just trying to get me to use him for money. " You cannot force me to do anything."
"Yes I can, if you don't do this I swear on my life. Normani Kordei Hamilton, you are banished from these grounds. I'm tired of you not obeying me. I don't care if it's your life because you are still under my rule."
I feel a nudge on my shoulder "Normani?"
I look up and I see one of my classmates in front of me. " Normani the bell rang a few minutes ago." Says Kehlani.
I mumble a quick thanks and I head out of the class. I practically speed walk, and in the process I bump into someone.
"Oh my God I'm so sorry are you okay" I ask noticing that it's the mysterious girl I saw at lunch.
"Yep I'm just fine" is all she says before speeding off in a blur.
Well that was odd. Shit, I forgot all about my class. I hurry up and make my way to the class. I of course end up there late. But, my teacher was cool enough to give me just a warning.
It's the end of the day, and I head home to take a quick shower. I enter my house, noticing a note on the counter stating Your mother and I went out. We'll be back by 10, there's leftovers in the kitchen. Love pops XoXo.
I finish the note and quickly head upstairs. Taking a quick shower, and putting on some clothes.
I send Khalid a quick saying I be there soon and I head out. I get there in about 5 minutes. Ironically, he was already outside checking the mail. He doesn't notice me at first, so I attempt to scare. The plan failed, and instead I end up giving myself a fright by almost tripping walking up the stairs. We head inside with him still laughing at me.
"You seem in a very good mood. I'm guessing your parents are out too?"sitting down on his couch, I observe his walls that are full of his idols. It's not like I haven't seen it before.
"Yes I'm in a very good mood so don't ruin it for me, and yes my parents are out." He retorts at me.
I'm used to it though since he was either rough, or rude to me. It's every once in a blue moon that her will be nice to me. I just reply with a small okay, and he checks his phone. From the start he was mean to me, but whenever other people are around he acts like a totally different person.
"So...." I begin, but then I get cut off by him placing his hand up and taking a phone call.
He walks into another room while I wait patiently. I overhear there conversation.
"Wassup Ethan" He pauses.
"Hold on I'm going to put you on speaker I can't hear you very well."
"Alright can you hear me now?"
"Yeah wassup big E"
" I'm having a party later on wanna come there's going to be hot girls there fo sure."
"You already know I'm going to be there. I'll show up in a few ight?"
"Bet I'll see you there"
I hear a beep, and he comes out of the room. " Normani I'm going to go to a party so..."
I already know where this is going, so I just leave. I don't know why I let my mom pressure me to be with him.
I receive a message from my boss.
Boss☠️: You ready on doing your next assassin mission, love?
