There I was again, sitting in front of the tree. "You're back so soon?" He voice echoed through my head. "I decided to go to sleep early," I shrugged. "Something happened?" She asked. "A lot happened," I sighed. "Well, you're here now, does it make you feel better?" She asked. "I think so," I sighed. "Wanna tell me what happened?" She asked. "I don't know," I shrugged. "It'll feel good to let it out," she playfully pushed her shoulder into mine. "Alright alright," I laughed.
My alarm blasted through my ears waking me up. "Mehki," I heard my little sisters voice get closer and closer. "Get up," she shook me. "Ughh, no," I rolled her as she wrapped her arms around me making me flinch. "Mehki, get up," she shook me again. "Fine," I sighed getting up. "I'll be ready in 20 minutes," I shooed her.
"Mehkiii," she knocked on the door twenty minutes later. "Are you ready?" She asked. "Yes," I laughed grabbing my bag opening the door. "Let's get you to school," I picked her up grabbing her backpack. "I don't wanna go to school," she huffed. "Nobody does hun," i laughed. "Have you eaten breakfast?" I asked. She nodded. "Alright, go get into the car," I set her down as she ran outside. I went into the kitchen and made some coffee shortly following Nekeo. "How has school been?" I asked. "Boring," she answered. "Well, do you like your teacher?" I asked. "She's really nice," she nodded. "That's good," I smiled.
The rest of the ride was quiet. We finally made it to her school, "bye Mehki," she waved as she got out of the car. I sighed.
My phone rang, and it was Dillon. I reluctantly answered. "What?" I asked pulling out of the parking lot. "Can you come pick me up?" He asked. "Uhm, okay, I'll be there in 10 minutes," I sighed hanging up. I pulled up to his house. He opened the door. "Hey," he said awkwardly. "What happened to your car?" I asked. "It's in the shop," he was obviously lying. "Oh okay," I smiled softly. He leaned over kissing my cheek. I looked over at him. "I'm sorry about yesterday," I sighed. "Hey don't apologize," he shook his head. "Why?" I asked. "Because it wasn't your fault," he smiled at me. "But it was my fault," I sighed. "Stop it," he shook his head. "It wasn't, okay?" I sighed nodding.
I finally pulled up to school, where we were 40 minutes late. "I don't wanna go," I looked at him. "What about maple?" He asked. "I just, I had a rough night last night," I sighed. "What happened?" He asked. "My dad was just, really bad," I sighed. "Awe, I'm sorry," he gently brushed his hand against my cheek. "It's fine," I looked at him. "I know you really don't wanna do school today, but, it's a Friday, and we're already almost an hour late, so, cmon, we have every class together today, don't leave my side okay?" He looked at me. "Okay," I turned the car off.
We walked down the empty halls as soon as the bell rang for second hour. He grabbed my hand and walked me to my locker. "You don't have to be my body guard," I looked at him. "What about yesterday Ki?" He asked. "Reggie won't do shit," I shook my head. "You don't know that," he sighed. "He doesn't have the balls," I laughed. "Hey, faggot," Reggie and his football friends walked up to me and Dillon. "What do you want?" I rolled my eyes. "I wanna talk to you," I heard a growl in his voice. "Are you sure that's all you wanna do?" I walked past him. "Hey don't walk away from me," he grabbed my arm. "Get your fucking hands off me," I shook him off, but he grabbed me again tighter. "What?" I rolled my eyes turning around. "You're just going to have to miss second hour," he pulled me through the halls. "Ki," Dillon followed us. "Dillon it's fine," I sighed. He grabbed my free hand as Reggie pulled me outside. "Reggie," I sighed. "What?" He asked. "You're hurting me," I bit my lip. "Am I?" He asked. "Yeah," I said as he pulled harder. "Reggie," I said as he stopped. "Sorry," he sighed. "What did you want?" I asked. Instead of saying anything he just slapped me. I held my hand to my cheek. "What the fuck," I asked. He did it again but harder. "Reggie stop it," I felt tears form in my eyes. "You fuck with me, and I'm sick of it," he pushed me against the wall. "Reggie. Stop it," I pushed him away. "Stop what?" He gripped the top of my pants. "Reggie stop it," I started having a panic attack. "Stop stop," I started screaming. "Shh," he covered my mouth. "Wh-what do you want from me?" I looked at him. "You'll find out," he smiled pulling me to his car.
(Dillons POV)
I had lost him through the crowd in the hall. "Dillyyyy!" I heard Maples voice. "Hey maple, have you seen Ki?" I asked. "I saw him leaving with Reggie," she smiled. "Are you fucking kidding?" I asked. "Shit shit," I walked outside she followed me. "What's the problem?" She asked. "Reggie and Ki don't really get along," I sighed. "Did you see where they went?" I asked. "I'm guessing to his car," she said. "We'll just wait then," I sighed sitting on the bench. "What's so bad about it?" She asked sitting next to me. "Everything," I sighed. We waited there for the next whole class period.
(Mehki's POV)
"I'll see you around," he smiled at me. "No, you won't," I put my shirt back on getting out of the car. "Ki," he got out grabbing my hand making me flinch. "What?" I asked keeping my head down. "You'll see me around," he lifted my head up. I looked away from him. As he hit me. "Look at me," he said. I looked at him. He gently kissed me. "Text me," he smiled letting me walk away.
I saw Dillon and Maple sitting in the front of the school. "Ki," they both got up. "Hi," I said quietly. "Are you okay," Dillon asked. "I'm fine," I gave them a fake smile. "Promise?" He asked. "I promise," I walked past them.
