"Hey you're back," the girl smiled at me sitting under the tree. I smiled back at her, "what's your name again?" I asked. "Blake," she smiled. "Do you have a last name Blake?" I asked. "Are you actually going to look for me now?" She laughed. "Oh cmon," I sighed. "You've been busy I guess," she smiled. "It's Blake Montoya," she smiled. "Do you go to my school?" I asked. "Yes," she nodded. "I'm going to find you," I smiled before I was rudely awoken.
"Ki get up," I heard Dillon say as he shook me. "What?" I yawned. "I'm going home," he said. "Okay, goodbye love you," I instead grabbed onto a pillow to replace the boy I was sleeping next to. He left without a goodbye or a kiss.
The next morning I got up early and headed to school. Nobody even looked at me, not even Dillon.
"Hey ki!" Maple came to nec happier than the last day I saw her. "Hey," I sighed opening my locker. I took my bag and shoved it into the locker. "Are you okay?" She asked. "Hm? Oh yeah," I rubbed my bloodshot tired eyes. "Have you seen Dillon?" She asked. "No," I reached into my pocket grabbing a flask quickly drinking from it before shoving it into my locker with the two boxes. "Oh, well, I wanted to congratulate him!" She smiled. "For what?" I asked. "He got the job at that kids hospital, he told me about it this morning," she cringed as I'm assuming she smelt my breath. "It smells like you drank dog water," she laughed pushing me away. "Pucker up," I teased. Suddenly Dillon walked past us. "Dillon!" Maple pulled me to him. "What?" He turned around. "We wanted to congratulate you!" She hugged him. "Thanks, I've got to go though," he pointed at his football friends. He turned but before he could walk away I grabbed his hand. "Are we okay?" I asked as he turned around. He nodded awkwardly. "Di-" he stopped me. "I've got to go," he ripped his hand away running back to be with his friends. "Of course, once an asshole, always an asshole," I walked back to my locker grabbing my backpack. "Ki!" Maple looked at me. "I thought that everything was getting better, but why would something good happen to me!" I ran out of the school just as the bell rang. I walked to the park.
This was my only safe space. I grabbed the flask chugging it and smoked a blunt. I laid against the tree where me and Dillon met in 3rd grade. He was playing football and I was on the opposite team. He was trying to catch the ball, and instead trampled me, making me get 3 stitches in my upper lip. He wouldn't stop apologising.
This was also where he confessed his feelings for me. So many good things happened here. So many things I try to forget, but I can't. I reached into my backpack grabbing a bag that had a sharp metal object in it. I placed the object on my wrist, even though my blood was thinned from the alcohol that had finally set in I didn't care.
1 cut. 2 cuts. 3. 4. I kept cutting until I lost room on my left arm. I heard the grass being stepped on. The steps were heavy, probably a police officer. I didn't care I closed my eyes. "Hey, no no, keep your eyes open," the voice I had so fallen in love with a year ago echoed in my head. "Dude, lets leave him, when the paramedics come where gonna get grilled for not being at school!" A voice I hadn't recognised said. "Fuck you, leave if you want to , I'm staying," I weakly smiled.
"Dillon"
