-January 3rd, 2039-

It had been some time since Kara and Alice had escaped from Alice's father, Todd, and met Luther, with whom they escaped from the deranged deviant destroyer, Zlatko. They'd made it safely across the border into Canada, and were now living a happy life as a normal family. However... it wasn't quite enough for Luther. He'd been trying to muster the courage to ask Kara the most important question a man could ask a woman, and today, he told himself, he would do it.

Kara had been playing out in the snow with Alice for a while, but not long enough for their biocomponents to freeze up. Luther stepped out into the cold, and cleared his throat, trying to get her attention. Kara looked up, and smiled. "Come over here and play with us!" Alice called. Of course, Luther found it hard to say no to, as he called her, "the little one". So, he trudged over, growling playfully as he pretended to be some kind of snow monster. Kara giggled as she watched the two play, then stood up and turned to go back into the house before she froze. Luther followed and gently grabbed her hand from behind.

Turning around, the shorter droid smiled up at her taller companion. "Yes, Luther?" she asked sweetly. Luther stammered for a moment, as though he were shorting out, before replying, "I know the three of us are already a family, but something doesn't feel right to me."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean... I want to do this the right way; the human way."

Kara's expression changed from calm to incredibly flustered as he spoke. "Wha-What are you saying?"

Luther dropped to one knee in the snow, causing the compacted powder to crunch beneath him. "Kara... I know this is sudden, but... will you marry me?"

Kara gasped, smiling as tears welled up in her eyes. "Oh, Luther... Yes. Yes, I will!"
