It was a very dark and dreary night as Calison and Juliet wandered through the depths of the forest, searching for a way out. "We've been wandering for hours Juliet! Can't we take one rest, please!" Calison whined as Juliet wandered further forwards. Juliet didn't want to stop, for fear of what might be out there in the thick bush in the dead of night. But the further they traveled, the more hopeless they felt. After what felt like hours more of hopeless meandering Juliet finally caved in and sat down to rest.
Just as they sat down though, movement was heard from the bushes behind them. When they went to search for the source of the sound, all that was found was more of the seemingly endless dark void that is the forest. After they sat back down, the longer they sat the more deafening the silence became. You could cut the fear and tension in the atmosphere with a dull knife. Every once in a while they thought they heard movement approach them, but always dismissed it to just hearing things because of the uneven tension in the air.
They sat there in frozen in fear of what could be lurking for what could have been hours before Calsion broke the silence uneasily "Okay... I think that's enough resting..." before yelling "I can't stand this forest anymore! I don't think we're alone here and I don't want to be here to confirm it." Juliet nodded and agreed candidly. Juliet couldn't deny that she felt that there may be someone in the forest with them, just watching. As Juliet was cautiously getting up, the unmistakable sound of a gunshot was heard along with the sound of the sticks snapping behind them.
Quickly, both Juliet and Calison jumped up and started to sprint off. They didn't care where, just anywhere other than where they once were. After several minutes of them blindly running, Juliet noticed the distinct lack of Calison around her. She was nowhere in sight. Juliet wanted to yell, scream for her friend; but all that would do was alert who ever was out there of both Juliet's location and the lack of protection each girl had. Instead she spun around trying to get her bearings, when a blood curdling scream erupted; echoing through the forest, making it impossible to tell where it came from. The hairs on her neck sprung up as the screaming faded and footsteps came closer and closer. Juliet was frozen with fear and no matter how much she wanted to run or fight whatever was to come, her body held her captive. Once the footsteps were right in front of her, she put her head down and closed her eyes, giving in. The last thing she feels is a sharp pain in her abdomen, a twist, and the metallic taste that fills her mouth.
She hears a chillingly calm voice utter to her "vale dilectione mea" before the sweet release of death overcomes her.
