Stiles lays in bed, dreading school tomorrow and regretting what he had done. Kissing Derek Hale. In the moment, it seemed like a good idea—a brilliant one in Stiles mind. It was supposed to fix everything wrong between them, all the issues that have sprung up ever since Derek came back.

Dude, you don't even know if he likes dudes! Stiles mentally scolds himself. Though he initially did kiss back...before he shoved me a foot away and jumped to his feet like a cat.

Stiles sighs and rolls over to stare blankly at his wall. The least he could do is help to finish their project, but when Stiles opened his laptop after getting home, Derek had unshared the presentation with him.

There's two knocks at his door before Noah pokes his head in. "Hey, lights out," he states while staring at his sons back. Stiles doesn't move, if he pretends to be sleeping his dad can't read him like a book and ask questions. Noah sighs and flicks the light switch himself, shutting the door softly behind him.

Deciding not to beat around the bush, Stiles approaches Derek before the bell for first hour rings. He stops at the other males locker, not even receiving a glance from Derek. "You're just going to ignore me? I can be pretty inignorable," Stiles says cheekily as he follows him down the hall. Inside, his heart his pounding painfully against his chest, but something has to be done before history. "Leave me alone," Derek snaps, looking at him for the first time with clear anger in his eyes.

To say the least, Stiles doesn't clear the air. As warned, he leaves Derek alone. When they get back around to their project, the last day to add any finishing touches, Stiles doesn't know what to do. He doesn't have the presentation anymore and Derek doesn't want to be anywhere near him. He glances over helplessly at Scott, but knows he can't sit over there without the teacher yelling at him.

It ends up being an hour of doing nothing, Stiles fidgeting in his desk between Derek and an empty one as he pretends to work on something. He chews on his lip and turns to Derek multiple times, but never ends up saying anything.

"Just watching you made me uncomfortable," Issac comments as soon as Stiles takes his seat. It earns him a glare, silently telling the boy it's not his business to make remarks about.

Ignoring Stiles' obvious sour mood, Scott leans closer to him. "Did something happen?" He questions, his eyes darting across the room to Derek. Stiles does the same before turning to face the window. "I'll tell you later."

"You what?!" Scott exclaims, suddenly standing in exasperation. "I kissed him, Scott! No one said it was my best idea!"

"Best idea? Stiles, this guy hates you and your solution was to kiss him?!"

"Um, ouch," Stiles throws his arms up at the comment, not even bothering to play it off as if it didn't hurt. He knows what Scott said is true, and if Derek didn't hate him before, he definitely does now. The fact doesn't make it easier to hear, or give Scott the right to say it aloud. They're best friends, Scott is supposed to support him and make him feel better after making dumb decisions like this, not rub it in his face.

"Sorry, man. I didn't mean—"

"Whatever," Stiles interrupts with an eye roll, "It's not like you're wrong. Now you get me all to yourself, right?"

"What? No, Stiles wait," Scott sighs, following when Stiles abruptly stands up to leave, "I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry."

"I know you are, I just don't care right now. I wanna be alone, alright? Just...leave me for awhile." Scott hates that Stiles is pissed off, yet more upset, so he doesn't even yell. His voice is soft and distant. That's why when he opens his mouth, no words come out, because if Stiles needs space then he deserves it.
