Chapter 11

After everything that happened yesterday I thought it would be a good idea to get out and clear my head, so right now I'm out in the middle of the bayou just breathing in the fresh air trying to think of what to do next time I see Nik. After about half an hour of just walking around, I find myself sitting at the lake just staring off into the water when I started to get the feeling like I was being watched but when I tried to catch a sent to tell me who it was but all I got was the sent of animals.

"I know you out there," I said quite loud making sure that they here me, after a few seconds I sensed someone behind me

"so how are you and why are you watching me," I asked while turning to look at whoever it was

"Who I am doesn't matter what matters is this isn't your territory so what are you doing here," asked the girl who now stood in front of me and behind me I could hear the sound of growling.

When I looked behind me I could see the wolves walking out of the behind the tree's growling and bearing its teeth at me. As I'm looking at them I slowly back up to the water while watching them in case they try to attack.

"Well for one I didn't know this land had been claimed so you can stop your growling because there's nothing you can do to hurt me, "I said just as the berserkers came up to my side making the wolves backup and the eyes widen.

"What the hell is that," the girl asked with a terrified look on her face as the wolves move to protect her,

"Oh these you could say are my personal bodyguards, and they will do whatever it takes to protect me except kill because I don't like killing," I say with a small shrug while sitting back down and looking back out at the water and sending a small growl to the berserkers telling them to back off.

After a while, the girl joins me on the ground, it was quiet for a while till she decided to break the silence,

"I'm Eve" the girl I now know as Eve said extending her hand for me to shake and waiting for me to tell her my name

"I'm Amy," I said as I took her extended hand and giving her a kind smile

"So why do you need your own bodyguards," Eve asked with a hint of curiosity in her voice.

"Well you wouldn't believe how many people have tried to kill me in the last few years that I've been a werewolf," I answered with a small shrug and a chuckle

"Why have so many people come after you," Eve asked turning her head in my direction slightly with a confused look on her face

"They think it's smart to take out my pack before it gets more powerful than it already is," was all I said, she was about to say something before my phone interrupted her telling me I had an incoming call from Scott

"Sorry I gotta take this... Hey Scotty how you doing," I asked when I answered the phone

"So big problem, so yesterday we took a kid into the police station but when we went back to ask him some questions he was gone. It was like he was never there like he never existed," he said sounding like a confused puppy

" Well, that's definitely strange. How can a kid just disappear into thin air?" I asked with a small frown on my face

"That's the thing we don't know, so we went to his house and it was empty we even did an internet search on his parents and nothing," he said 

"Do you have any clues yet or what? "I asked 

" All we have is that before the boy was taken he told us that he saw men on horses with guns and whips" Scott answered making me confused
