"Mona," called Pinki from the kitchen, "See who's knocking my child." Pinki was as usual in the kitchen, trying to distract herself in either preparing food to who's left of her family or cleaning and scrubbing her already clean and sparkling pans and pots. She was scared and worried about her daughter, Gauri. She was aware of the words the villagers were babbling about her daughter, that she was more than just a working maid in the castle, some saying that she became one of the king's concubines others going as far as saying that she was a whore in the castle, the court's men passing her between them.

A lone tear glided down her cheek, people can be so ruthless, but she knows her kind hearted daughter, she won't disgrace her family's name if she can help it and that hurt Pinki more, knowing if any of this is actually happening with her daughter, it means that her daughter is unwilling and being abused.

"Mother," came Mona's trembling voice from the adjoining room, "there is two soldiers here that need to speak to my father."

Mona leaned against the kitchen's threshold, her face ashen. 'Why would those two need to speak to her father? Was her sister in trouble? Was she okay?'

"Ca-call him my child." It was Pinki's turn to pale and starts shaking.

"What can I do for you sirs?" asked Shakti as soon as he stepped inside his house, a frightened glint shining in his eyes matching those of his wife and daughter.

"We are here with a request from the king himself." One of the two armored men stated. "His majesty is asking for Lady Gauri's sister to come with us and visit her sister."

"W-What?" Mona was about to choke on her own tongue when her mother exclaimed about their request.

"His majesty found that Lady Gauri is missing her family and for that he decided to allow her to see her family, but since she's not allowed to leave the castle, he's allowing you to visit her."

"What makes you thinks that I feel safe about sending my daughter there? Isn't one enough? I won't jeopardize losing the second one as well." Shakti bit back in anger. What is that suppose to mean and why they're calling his daughter 'Lady Gauri'?

"Father, don't be afraid, nothing wrong will happen to me. Please give me your permission to go and see Gauri, you have no idea how much I miss her." The tears Shakti saw in his daughter's eyes made his heart throb.

"This is not a request," continued the same soldier, "You are not to refuse the king's request."

"Let her go, let her see her sister and make sure she's ok, please Shakti." If his daughter made his heart throb, his wife made his heart fall to the ground. The pain on her face and the tears in her eyes would have made a mountain crack as shatter into tiny pieces.

Shakti gulped, and shook his head in acceptance. "Take care of yourself my daughter."

Both he and his wife hugged Mona before she walked with the two soldiers towards the castle. The déjà vu scene making both parents crumbles to the ground and son in despair.

"Get back safe my child." Whispered Pinki in her husband arms.

"Wake up my Gauri, waking you up is becoming a habit of yours." Omkara whispered to the sleeping Gauri, a habit that he was enjoying a lot. Seeing this woman asleep in his bed always made his heart swell with a strange feeling, something he never felt before.

He started planting soft feathery kisses on her face and the second his lips touched her neck, Gauri's arms circled his neck and moaned his name, "Omkara"
