chapter six

Dong woo was confused as to why Hye was crying and it was him she was hugging.

You worked on typing the lyrics. Your phone began to ring. You looked down to see Jungkook calling you. You paused your music on YouTube and answered.

"Hello"?

"Hi (y/n). I'm outside your dorm but I hear sobbing. Did something happen"?

"What"?

You opened your bedroom door. The sight you saw surprised you. Dong woo was hugging a crying Hye. You grabbed your laptop and snuck out. You bumped into Jungkook.

"Oh sorry". You said. Jungkook laughed a little. You were confused why jungkook laughed. Jungkook seemed to notice this because of your face.

"Sorry. I was just thinking about how cute you are acting. You're sneaking out and it looked cute". You didn't understand his statement. You grabbed his arm and pulled him away from your dorm door.

Jungkook and you stopped at a 24 hour open ramen market. You guys didn't eat you worked. The two of you sat on the stools that faced the window. You were typing. Suddenly you had a flashback to Jae eun's text. You turned to jungkook.

"Hey Jungkook, you remember Jae eun?" Jungkook nodded. "She wanted to meet up with you tommorow night. Is that okay with you?" You asked. You know Jae eun didn't have any sexual attraction to Jungkook but it still hurt to say that. Jungkook smiled and nodded.

"Will you be there"? Jungkook asked. You shook you head. "Oh". Jungkook said looking down. "She wanted your help. She has a crush on one of your friends." You said. Jungkook nodded. Your stomach growled. You covered it in embarrassment. Jungkook laughed.

"Let's order something".

You and Jungkook walked home together. It was a little chilly. You were still in your first semester of school and Halloween hasn't even arrived yet but the air still managed to bite your fingers and whip your body. Your breath made contact with the air letting out little white puffs.
You looked at Jungkook. He looked straight ahead.

"Um it's cold". You said. "Yeah". Jungkook said. It was dark but you could see his flushed cheeks. You were sure yours looked the same. You made it back to your college campus.

"Well...see you tommorow." You said walking away. "Wait!" Jungkook pulled you back. "Before you go." Jungkook bent down and kissed you. Wait a minute kissed you? He pulled away.

"What was that for"? You asked. Jungkook shuffled uncomfortably. "Dummy practice." You stood there confused. "I wanted to see how a girl would react to being kissed unexpectedly so I just did it. Sorry". Jungkook said.

"It's fine but some girls don't like that." You said. Your face was burning. Jungkook stifled a laugh. You smiled. Ever since Jungkook has been spending time with you he's been becoming less shy. You were starting to fall for him little by little but right now it was just friendship.

Hye laid on her bed. She didn't know why she hugged Dong woo or why she was crying. After seeing Jin she bursted into tears. Not her intention. She heard the front door of their dorm open. She saw (y/n) walk in.

"(Y/n), you're back". Hye said a little drained.

"Yeah". You said smiling nervously.

"Yeah..." Hye smiled weakly.

"Are you okay"? You asked concerned. Hye shook her head. You set down your laptop on the coffee table and walked to her door. "Can I come in". Hye opened her door a little more and walked in. Hye sat on her bed.

"I don't even know why I'm depressed." Hye said. She looked at you. "As soon as I saw Jin...I...just...bursted into tears." Hye said. You hugged her.

"It's okay." She cried in your arms.

The next morning you woke up in Hye's room. You sat up. Hye wasn't in her bed or in her room. You checked the time on the digital clock. Your eyes widened.

You had 20 minutes to get ready for class. You rushed to your room and threw together and outfit and freshened up a bit. You ran out of your room. But you bumped into a tall figure. You looked up a blushed heavily.

The boy looked down at you and smiled. He held his hand out. You took and he helped you up.

"How long are you going to stare at me like that"? You snapped back to reality.

"I'm sorry. Your face is beautiful". He laughed.

"Thanks. They don't just call me sunshine for nothing. So where are you headed"?

"Idol prep class. Look I'd love to stay and chat but I gotta go". You ran off.

You made it just in times and slammed your head down on your desk trying to catch your breath.

"Nice. Made it before the bell". Your friend said. You rolled your eyes. "So you did you ask him"?

"Ask who"?

"Jungkook".

"Oh yeah. He said sure".

"Awsome"! Your friend cheered. After class Jae eun walked up to Jungkook and they exchanged numbers. You went to the memorial garden to eat lunch. Someone sat next to you on the bench. You looked over.

"Hi again". The boy said.

"You are"? You asked.

"Oh I'm sorry. I forgot to properly introduce myself. I'm J-hope". You suspiciously took a bit of you seaweed  wrapped rice.

"How did you find me again"? You asked.

"Your hair is a little messy and it was when you walking out of your dorm and it looks the same way it did this morning".

"WHAT"! your hands flew to your head. J-hope laughed.

"Jungkook talks a lot about you". You blushed.

"Huh"?

"This is the first time he's been so attached to someone". J-hope said. You nodded.

"Well since you and Jungkook are friends do you mind if we become close too"? You shook your head.

"No. I don't mind". You said.

"Great. Can I get your number?"

"Sure". You and J-hope exchanged phones an typed in your information. You smiled at each other. And that was the end of lunch break.
