I couldn't move. I didn't know how to react, so I just stood there, gaping. It was actually her. Bloody Mary.

"Rachel Davis. I knew this day would come." Her voice was quiet, raspy, snake-like . . . Haunting.

"H-How do you know m-my name?" I eventually sputtered. Bloody Mary laughed.

"I know many things. I know what you and that Ashley Cooper will soon attempt to do. I know how the boys will help. And I can't let that happen."

"W-What?" The lady seemed crazy. I gulped.

"I've enjoyed our little chat, Ms. Davis, but now it will come to an end. And so will you." I felt my eyes widen with fear at that statement, but before I could do anything, my body was lifted and slammed into the wall behind me. I screamed and scrambled to my feet. Suddenly an invisible force griped my neck, holding on tightly. I felt myself gasping for air, and then the unseen hands gripped harder. I couldn't breathe. Can I die when I'm already dead? I thought. I sure didn't want to find out.

"What a shame," Bloody Mary said as walked towards me. "I'll tear apart planet earth, little by little, bit by bit, and you won't live to see it happen. Tsk, tsk, tsk," The woman ran a bloody hand through my black hair slowly. The feeling sent shivers down my spine. "What a pretty little girl, too," Bloody Mary hissed in my ear. She ran her dirty hands through my hair and along my face. I hated the sensation.

Get off me, I thought. Get off me. I tried to say it, but I didn't have enough breath. My lungs were burning. Get off me, I screamed into my head. GET. OFF!

A strong rush of wind pulled Bloody Mary away from me, but the hands still gripped my neck. I fell to the ground. I knew it is about to die. Let. Go. Of. ME! I screamed again. This time a much stronger wind exploded from me. The invisible hands were ripped off my throat just in time. I gasped and felt oxygen rush into my lungs, filling me with energy.

"How-" Mary Tudor said behind me. I turned, and looked at the ex-queen. Then I stood.

"I don't know what you mean about me and Ashley and some boys are going to do, but I'm going to figure it out. One day, I'm gonna kill you. But for know, I order you to leave this school, and never return." As I said the words, I felt something strange about them on my tongue. When I said them, Bloody Mary stood - it looked more like she was pulled - up, and started to exit the room. I could see her try to struggle against something, but I didn't know what it was. However, I did know I caused it.

"You . . . Will . . . Regret . . . This . . ." Mary Tudor said between struggles. "And you will fail . . . Miserably. I will succeed!"

"Be gone," I said. Bloody Mary was yanked out of the room. The lights got a little brighter, and the smell got nicer. I could breath easier.

What had just happened? What had I done? I had no idea, but I did know that I had to tell Ashley. ASAP.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ashley and I had every class together, so I knew exactly where she was when I looked at a clock. At ten-thirty on Tuesdays, we had English.

I snuck over to the classroom's door and watched through the little window as the class took notes and wrote essays. I was amused just watching Ashley write. She hated English, while I enjoyed it. I don't see how she could dislike the subject, though she says the same thing about me and Math.

After watching Ashley struggle for half an hour, the lunch bell rang. Ashely looked at the door, and saw me standing there. She mouthed the word "bathroom," and I took off in that direction. I slipped into the restroom's doors just as the first students exited their classrooms. I waited for what seemed like hours, but it was really only five minutes, for Ashley to come.

The door opened. I turned to look at my friend, but then froze. It wasn't Ashley. Instead it was the girl named Veronica from earlier. I stood still, trying not to make a sound. Veronica stared right through me. She walked into a stall and closed the door behind her.

Then Ashley walked in. She smiled and opened her mouth to say something, but I held a finger to my lips and jerked my head towards the stall that Veronica was in. Ash nodded and walked into a stall and closed the door as Veronica stepped out of her own stall. I held my breath, not daring to make a sound, as Veronica washed her hands. She turned towards me, and that's when I realized I was standing in front on the paper towels.

Veronica stretched her hand out, and . . . it went right through me. She shuddered a bit as she dried her hands, then she finally walked out of the bathroom. I let out my breath and Ashley stepped out of her stall.

"That was a close one," She said to me, but I wasn't listening.

"Ash, why can you see me when other people can't?" Ashley looked confused.

"What do you mean?"

"You can see me, right?" Ashley rolled her eyes.

"Yeah."

"Well then, how come other people don't know I'm here? They can't see me, but you can," I explained. Ashley understood, but was still confused, like I was.

"I . . . I don't know," She said. After a moment she asked,"Hey, did you find anything at the library?"

"Oh!" I was caught off guard by the change in subject, but I remembered the whole experience with Bloody Mary, and I said,"Actually, I did. Well, it was more like everything found me,"

As I recalled what had happened earlier that day, Ashley's eyes widened, but she didn't say anything until I finished.

"Damn," Ash whispered, "Do you think we're gonna do something important?"

"I dunno," I said. "I guess so, because if it wasn't then Bloody Mary wouldn't have mentioned it, right?"

"Yeah, I guess. Do you . . . Do you really think she's going to try and destroy the planet?"

"That, I know for sure," I answered seriously. "Yes."
