Kyren and I make it down to the nurse's office without me completely passing out. When we get the nurse just looks at me knowingly. I acknowledge her with a nod before they both help me onto a bed. The nurse then tells Kyren she can leave that I am in good hands. Kyren just looks at her with doubt in her eyes...her really, really blue eyes. I don't know how I never noticed before. Huh, interesting. I give her a nod as a thank you and an ok for her to leave me. She walks out the door with a puzzled look on her face. I let out a small huff of relief that she doesn't ask me more questions. The nurse grabs a notebook out of her desk and hands it to me so I can tell her what happened as she examines me to find out the damage Todd did to me. As I write, she starts prodding me in the ribs. When I hiss in pain, she looks at me and tells me that I have a cracked rib. I write down Nate's phone number and ask her if she can call him and tell him what happened. Hopefully he is not at work yet so that maybe he can come pick me up and take me to home. As she is dialing the phone I get off the bed and start working my way to the door. I realize this is a mistake as my head explodes with pain. I groan and fall back onto the bed. After the nurse gets off the phone and tells me Nate will be here in a half an hour to pick me up, I grab the notepad again and start asking her to have someone go get my bag out of the hallway when Kyren walks through the door holding said bag. I look at her with surprise especially since it means miss goody two-shoes is missing class right now. She looks at me and tells me and the nurse that she explained what happened to her teacher and that the teacher gave her a pass to come return my bag. She once again asks me if I'm ok, and all I can do is stare at her until she clears her throat. I blush and turn to a new page in the notebook and write a simple yes to answer her question. She nods her head and then asks me if I'm going home. I point to the word on my notepad and she asks me how I'm getting there. I write her that my roommate is coming to pick me up. She gives me a puzzled look, and I look down at my lap. She and I both jump when the nurse's phone starts ringing. It's Nate saying that he actually got called into work early and was not able to come pick me up. I hear him ask over the phone if I am ok to ride my bike home. The nurse looks over at me and I nod my head yes just so that Nate doesn't have to worry about me. I can suck it up for the 30 minute ride home I guess. She lets him know and hangs up the phone. I just groan and start trying to stand again. As it did last time, a pain shoots through my head and I have to sit back down. Kyren looks at me concerned and ask the nurse when my ride is coming. The nurse looks at her worried and says that he isn't coming. Kyren takes a moment to think and then tells the nurse that if she can give her permission to take me home and watch over me that she would be happy to give me a ride. Oh no no no....if she takes care of me Todd might come down harder on me, or even worse on her. I start shaking my head no, but the nurse just gives me a look that says I have no choice. Kyren gives me a smirk and starts to help me up again. As we walk out the door, I see my helmet at the end of the hallway and tug on Kyren's arm to get her attention. She nods at me when I point to the red object she helps me over to it and picks it up. As we walk to the office to give our notes of absence to the secretary, she starts to get her keys out of her bag. A small book falls out. She quickly bends over to retrieve it. I look at it and realize it's full of writing. It looks like a journal or diary of some sort. We finally make it out the door and to her car where she helps me get and buckle up. I wince when the seat belt tightens over my side. Her eyes widen and she apologizes. I just wave my hand at her telling her it's fine. She hands me my notebook and asks me my address. I write it down for her and then lay my head back to close my eyes for a bit. God, my fucking head hurts.
