Febuary, 2002

I tried really had to focus on what the teacher was saying but I couldn't.
Has he eaten yet? Is he still sick? Did he go to school today?
These questions kept distracting me.

"Jieun, this is the third time I'm telling you to pay attention. Atleast pretend you are." I looked up to see Mrs Sol glaring at me. I really liked her class but I just couldn't bring my mind to it today.

"Sorry." Was all I said as I willed myself to focus. This is the last class I have today, just a few minutes more and I can leave.
"...Use your weekend for this project. Remember, it is 30 percent of your final grade." Mrs Sol said packing her books.
Just then, the bell rang indicating the end of the class. I rushed out of the class and the school after I said my goodbyes.

I didn't have a lot of friends but I was fine with that. I talked with everyone, I just wasn't really open with people.

I stopped at the pharmacy and bought some medicine. As I continued walking, I saw a woman selling pretty jewellery.
It wasn't here yesterday. I thought to myself.

I approached the stand to check it out.

"Young lady. Is there anything you would like in particular?"
The woman asked me. She looked friendly.

"How about this." I asked picking one up. It was pretty and i liked the pattern.

It was pretty and i liked the pattern

"Nice choice. It is a couple's bracelet." I took the other pair and payed for it.

"Thank you." I said as I left the stand. I smiled as I placed them in my bag.

I rang the bell to Em's apartment when I arrived.

"Jieun, come inside." I heard Em say from inside the apartment after she unlocked the door.

"My mom is asleep so let's go to my room" She said as I entered.

I always got the feeling that Em's mom didn't really like me. Whenever I was around, Em made sure we didn't have any direct conversation.

"How is He doing?" I asked as I saw Joon sleeping on the bed upon entering the room.
He was sweating and he looked sick. I hate seeing him like this.

"He is still complaining of his headache but his temperature is back to normal. He will get well soon." Em said assuring me.

"I brought these." I said as I handed the medicine I got to her.

"You didn't have to, but thank you." She said smilling. I knew she hated me doing things like this but she had given up talking me out of it.

"Let me check on the porridge." She said as she left for the kitchen.

There was a towel placed on Joon's head and as i reached out to take it, he woke up.

"Jieun?" Joon said as he got up.
He didn't look too good but he was better than before.
