If people only looked at the surface, they'd see that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. Being born with a father who was the president of one of the biggest company in New York and a mother who was a famous socialite, there definitely are benefits.

But if you look past the golden coated mask, you'll see a broken soul devoid of love and affection.

All my life, I've been expected to be as good as my sister. To show extraordinary talent and skills. Well, good for her she was born with it. However, it's another situation for me. I had to work hard to impress people who I knew would never look at me as a human being.  Nevertheless, a daughter.

To them, I was a disappointment.  A mistake. A money draining good-for-nothing. Not worth a single penny. The only reason they take care of me is because of  their reputation. To the whole world, we were a loving family.

Oh if only they knew that the youngest daughter was neglected and abused.

The only thing they did right in their entire life was throwing me into the care of my grandmother. In a world I thought would never accept me or treat me right, a light appeared in the form of a human.

She taught me how to be free from my insecurities. She taught me how to love, laugh and live life as it is. She taught me to be my own person not just another shadow of a person I could never be.

I was told that everybody finds their worth some time in their life. Not everybody finds it at the same time. Some found it when they were young. Some found it when they were old.

I found mine when I was abandoned by the people I called my family.
