Chapter 6 : So Many Questions, But No Answers?
- THE NEXT DAY -
Lillian's P.O.V
We were still clouded by the issue that the guys left for no reason. One reason could be that, they were freaked out by us. I mean, who wouldn't be? We were screaming in the bathroom. BUT, we could say the same to them. They were the ones eavesdropping on us behind the door that connected the bowling center to the Ladies' room. I guess we were both freaked out? I don't know, my head is in a blur. Honestly, it happened so fast, I don't know what to think about it.. Well, back to the topic, another reason could be that it was personal. But, how should I know? It's not like I'm a detective or something.
While I was debating on wheter they were freaked out by us or personal reasons, Nicole walked in.
"Hey, buttercup, let's go. You gotta warm up to be a ninja." she winked at me.
I grinned in response, and got up. Leaving the debating for later, I grabbed my clothes I set aside earlier the other day, and went to change. Afterwards, I grabbed my bag, and we jolted to the door. But, something unexpected happened. It was something I wasn't expecting, and we needed a lie to cover it up. I don't really like lying, but in my situation, we needed to.
"Honey, where are y'all going?" my Mom asked, as she emerged from the kitchen towards the front door. She eyed us, questioning the bag in my hand.
"Oh, uh... No where?" I responded dumbfounded. I mentally slapped myself. Way to answer it unsuspiciously, Lillian.
"Mhm.. So, if you're going no where, what's with the bag?" she said, while pursing her lips into a straight line.
Here's the thing. I'm not a liar. Hell, if I entered a lying competition, I'd come last. Yeah, that's how AMAZING I am. I rolled my eyes, while thinking for a response. I noticed I couldn't find one, so I looked to Nicole. She glared at me, and shook her head.
"She's staying over at my house, if that's okay with you, Mrs. Smith?" Nicole smiled politely at my Mom.
My Mom eyed us suspiciously, but gave up. "Well, you guys have fun! Don't do anything I wouldn't do!" she grinned, and closed the door after us.
We walked to the car, with Nicole unlocking it, we got in and eyed me.
"Seriously, ' No where..? '" she shook her head laughing, quoting the lie I said earlier.
"You know I'm not good at lying!" I whined to her, slumping back onto the seat.
"Yeah, yeah, we all know. Little Miss Innocent." she laughed.
I scowled at her. She did not just say that. Whatever.
-
We were jamming out to Boyfriend, with the speakers up loud.
"If I was yo' boyfriend, I'd never let you go. I can take you places, you ain't never been before!" I sang loudly, using my hand in a 'thumbs up' position as a microphone.
"I don't know about me, but I know about you! So say hell to falsetto in three, two, SWAG!" she sang back to me, looking from the road to me occasionally.
We laughed hysterically. Until, I realized I was missing something important. I yelled out in frustration. I can't believe I didn't bring it!
"What?" Nicole asked, not looking away from the road.
"I forgot to get me some Haribo Gummybears!" I groaned out.
"Well, you're in luck. We're almost there, but look!" she said happily, pointing somewhere.
