Austin POV

"Austin hurry up or you'll be late," my mother yelled from downstairs.

"Okay mom," I yelled back.

"New school, new day," I said to myself then walked downstairs.

"Morning mom, morning dad," I greeted my parents then sat down and ate my pancakes.

"Morning sweetie," my mom greeted, "are you excited about your first day at your new school?"

"I guess. But why am I starting at a new school a month into the school year?"

"We've been over this Austin, we decided to move the mattress store to Miami since there was a bigger space available here," my dad said.

I'm Austin Moon. My parents moved their mattress store, Moon's Mattress Kingdom, to Miami. So that means new school, new town, new people. It's all just happening so fast. My father wants me to go into business, but my passion is music. Sure I can play many instruments, sing, and have pretty good looks, but I can't write songs. I would love to be performing on stage all the time, but I just can't write songs.

"Austin you better hurry up sweetie or you'll be late," my mom said.

I finished my pancakes, grabbed my backpack, and headed out the door. When I walked out I saw a girl across the street. She was wearing a tank top with flowers on it, jeans, and boots. I think she's going to Marino High since she's headed in that direction. I decided to trail behind a bit so she wouldn't think I was creepy stalker.

Once I got to Marino High I saw her again. HA! I WAS RIGHT! Too much? Well I was still right. Anyways, I went to the office to get my schedule and locker number. I walked out and started looking for my locker. I think I got a little lost because my locker number is 324 and I'm in the 500s..... I started walking around again and made it to the 200s. Well at least thats closer. I was going to try to find that girl again and ask her for help, but I decided against it and walked up to a red head I saw.

"Hey I'm new here and I'm kind of lost," I said to him.

"Oh here what's your locker number," he asked.

"324."

"Oh you're right next to me, follow me," he said then started walking toward a row of lockers, "I'm Dez by the way. Everyone's favorite ginger."

"I'm Austin," I responded.

"Well nice to meet you Austin, you'll like it here at Marino High."

"Nice to meet you too."

"Well here we are, locker 324."

'Thanks," I said. Then I noticed that girl again across the hall talking to a short girl with curly black hair.

"Hey Dez, what's that girl's name? The short one with brown hair talking to the shorter one with curly hair," I said motioning over to the two girls.

"Oh that's Ally. She's the girl-heartthrob of the school. She has a new "boy" almost every week. I've never been her boy, but it's probably because I've known her for so long and I know all her tricks."

"A new boy," I asked curiously.

"They're kind of like her boyfriend. She gets them whipped pretty quickly. And the girl she's talking to is Trish."

I was about to ask him more about Ally, but the bell rang.

"Well, see you at break. My first class is history," Dez said then started walking to what I presumed was the history room.

"Okay first class is...... chemistry," I said to myself, "I hope I don't get lost again."

I started walking in a random direction and I knew I was totally lost.

"Need some help," I heard a voice say.

I turned around and saw the voice belonged to Ally. She was a lot prettier up close.

"Um u-uh," I stuttered. Wow, smooth Moon.

"Here let me see your schedule," she said then took my schedule from my hands, " well it looks like we have first, second, and fourth period together. Here follow me," she said then started walking towards what I presumed was the chemistry lab.

"Thanks," I said.

We kept talking for a little bit, and then she asked me what my interests were. I explained to her that my dad wants me to go into business, but music is my passion. Then I asked her what here interests were and she told me that was a secret. I was about to ask her another question, but she cut me off because we had reached the chemistry lab. We were late, but Ally played it off very smoothly. Wow. She is good. The teacher then introduced me to the class and then we took two seats in the back. Chemistry went by surprisingly fast and I noticed Ally zoned out. I wrote down the homework assignment and then the bell rang. I gathered my things and noticed Ally came back to Earth and scribbled down the homework. I got up and waited for Ally awkwardly. Should I wait for her? Will she think I'm a total creep? Well she did say we had second period together, but maybe she was sick of me already.

"Need some help finding the history room," she asked when she noticed me waiting.

I nodded.

"Here follow me," she said then walked to the history room.

History seemed to go on forever. At least after this we have a break. I noticed Ally zoned out again. I noticed I also was starting to zone out thinking about the mysterious girl next to me. I wonder what her interests were. I came back to Earth when I heard the teacher telling us to write down the homework. I wrote down the homework and then the bell rang again. I noticed Ally scribble down the homework again. I wonder, does she do that a lot?

"What," she asked. Oops, must have said that out loud.

"Zone out," I asked trying to save myself.

"I guess you could say that," she said then walked out of the room, myself next to her. I wonder what surprises Ally Dawson might bring.

A/N - Thanks so much for your feedback on my last chapter! I don't usually write in a boy's point of view often and I'm not a guy so I hope this was okay. Here's a virtual cookie for dealing with my horrible point of view writing (::). Also, I've never been a new student at a school so sorry if some of that sounded wrong. Also, I'm just starting high school in the fall for sorry if some of that sounded wrong too. Constructive criticism is appreciated :)

Thanks for reading!
