Homesick

I'd spent a few weeks in heaven, but then really started to miss my loved ones and friends back on earth. I took my situation to the one who could figure out a plan for me. GOD.

"So, dad," I started. We have gotten close in those few weeks I've met Him. I continued on stating my problem. "Dad, I'm really homesick."

". . ."

"I miss all my family and friends on earth."

He still did not answer.

Finally, He spoke. "I can't just send you back."

"Why not?" I asked.

". . ." He hesitated. "You woke up and then died the day after. That has been happening for three weeks, so your doctors decided that it was best to put you out of that misery. Your parents agreed on that choice."

". . ." Now it was my turn to be silent. I had no words.

"Your funeral is tonight, Beau."

Was this how it was for Tyler? Was it like this for everyone else? Did they just wake up, completely unconscious, and die? And keep dying, all over again? Did they 'have' to go to their funeral?

"Um, dad? Do I have to go to my funeral tonight?"

Tyler was eaves dropping. "I would. Like I said, you don't get to go down to earth everyday."

I took the hint. "Alright, alright! I'll go, but I want Tyler to come with me."

"Ooh, ooh! Can I see my mom and some friends?" Ty asked.

"We are both kids. We're supposed to sneak stuff, not ask for stuff" I thought and mentally face palmed myself.

So we walked down the concrete steps, and went to earth. It's about 4:00 PM and my funeral is at 6:00, so we visited Tyler's mom. Of course she couldn't see him, but we visited her. Even though he's been dead for five years, it still hurt his mom. She was all alone - she didn't have anybody but herself and the memories of her only son.
