Bodega [noun] - (Spanish origin) a storehouse

Chinito [noun] - (Spanish origin, literally “little Chinese boy”) in modern times, Filipino adapted the word to mean a Filipino with Chinese looks, particularly with a pair of small slant eyes

Empanada [noun] - (Spanish origin, empanar, “roll in pastry”) a pastry turnover filled with a variety of savory ingredients and baked or fried

Kuripot [noun] – stingy, frugal

Lolo [noun] – grandfather
Longganisa [noun] – (Spanish origin, longaniza) sausage

Mare [noun] – close female friend

Pasalubong [noun] – any gift or souvenir brought for family or friends after being away for a period of time, or any gift given by someone arriving from a distant place

Taho [noun] - (Chinese: 豆花; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: tāu-hue) a Philippine snack food made of fresh soft or silken tofu, arnibal (caramel), and sago pearl (similar to tapioca pearls)
Tol [noun] – contraction of the word, kaputol or utol, a brother or a sister
